About Me
Hi, my name is Marianne and I am a twice in a row rated OUTSTANDING OFSTED registered childminder. I live with my husband and 3 children, my eldest daughter who was born in 2007, my son who was born in 2010 and my youngest daughter born in 2016. I have a 4 bedroom no smoking house, with a secure garden and live in central Coulsdon. We are within 5 minutes off the bus route 166, which runs directly into Croydon and Epsom and I am relatively close to Coulsdon South, Coulsdon Town and Woodmansterne train stations, all are approx a 20 minute walk from my house.
I have had a cabin built in my garden. This has a fully plumbed toilet, a mini kitchenette and heating. It is a brilliant, stimulating environment dedicated to the children, a safe and loving environment with lots of resources for outdoor play, messy play, educational play, all working towards the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
Each child deserves the best possible start in life with support to fulfil their potential. A childs experience of the early years, has a major impact on their future life chances.
I attend the local playgroups, parks, singalong sessions and Godstone farm. I am within walking distance of 4 parks and Banstead woods.
My husband is a local postman and also my Ofsted registered assistant, although is very rarely needed now. He will occasionally help for 30 minutes on the afternoon school run, just as an extra pair or eyes on walking all the children back to the setting. My mum Diane, is also my Ofsted registered assistant, she holds a full paediatric first aid certificate and currently works with me one day a week with the early years children. On average I will have 4 early years children a day.
Myself, my husband, my over 16 daughter and Diane all have had an enhanced DBS check completed.
My Experience
I have been childminding since 2010 and have been lucky enough to work with some fantastic families that have stayed with me for many, many years therefore continuing to mind siblings as they have arrived.
I was previously a financial accountant, but decided on a career change that was more rewarding.
I do have references avaliable on request.
My Qualifications
Throughout my childminding years, I have been inspected 3 times. My most recent inspection (June 2024) I am very proud to say, I was graded outstanding in all 4 areas of learning for the second consecutive time.
I have completed many courses:
1. First steps into childminding
2. Multiple paediatric first aid courses
3. Safeguarding level 1 & 2, plus multiple refreshers
4. Caring for school aged children
5. Observation and assessment
6. The 2-year progress check
7. Managing children’s feelings and behaviour
8. Practice guidance for SENCO for Childminder’s
9. Technology in the early years
10. Safeguarding disabled children
My childminding training is always on going.
I do also have unrelated professional qualifications.
My Availability
I work Tuesdays to Thursdays all year round. My earliest start is 7.30am and my latest pick up is 5.30pm. A 6pm pick up can be discussed as a possible option if needed.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
My normal day rate is £80 (7.30am-5.30pm or 8am-6pm). For wrap around care (currently only with children attending Smitham Primary School) I charge £8 before school and £25 after school fee, including a snack and a cooked hot meal.
I work with the general rule of, if my services are avaliable and you dont attend your contracted hours (eg, through sickness/holiday) then you will be charged the full fee, but if my services are unavaliable through sickness or holiday, then no charge is applicable.
I currently offer funding and accept childcare vouchers and the government tax free childcare scheme.
Funding only covers the basic costs involved with delivering childcare. I require all children to supply their own toiletries and give parents the option of supplying their own food if they choose not to pay the £8.50 per day food costs. I have a detailed admissions policy and funding policy to ensure complete transparency on the fees due.
My setting closes between Christmas and New year each year.
