My name is Kayte and I am a registered childminder, graded ‘Outstanding’, offering early education and childcare from my home-from-home setting in Coggeshall. My ethos is mainly influenced by Forest Schools and the Froebelian approach to learning. My curriculum is planned around nature and connecting our little ones to their natural world, and implemented using a Slow Pedagogy. We are currently working towards our Curiosity Approach Accreditation.
Your children will benefit from;
• A calm and welcoming environment to play, create, explore and learn. My play spaces are designed with your little one in mind using The Communication Friendly Spaces Approach, to foster a feeling of security, and to build a sense of wonder and joy.
• An early introduction to music (singing and percussion) influenced by the Kodaly method.
• Large family home with well equipped dedicated playroom, downstairs toilet, and big safe established garden (made up of courtyard and lawn areas). Family kitchen and dining area. Dedicated quiet/reading/rest areas.
• Fully qualified Level 3 Cache HBCA, with all relevant DBS checks, insurance, safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications.
• Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ongoing rigourous CPD training.
• Homecooked, nutritious meals.
• I have a strong emphasis on outdoor play and have a wonderful integrated outdoor space for a continuous flow between the playroom and our garden. The beautiful countryside is on our doorstep, and we spend most our time outdoors on adventures.
I am mum to four year old Sebastien, step-mum to 18 year old Freddy, and married to Steve, a graphic designer. We live in beautiful Coggeshall, with our two cats Audrey and Shreddie.
After leaving university with a degree in English Language in 2006, I ran my own retail business until 2011, before teaming up with my husband to grow our successful design agency.
I have always found supporting children with their play and creativity incredibly rewarding and enjoyable, and so refocused my training to launch my own Early Years setting back in 2016.
I am also a freelance writer, and have written educational and childcare-based content for various publications and websites, including Teach Early Years Magazine, the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) and Essex County Council.
I am friendly, creative and enthusiastic, and three times graded ‘Outstanding’. After a short stint registered with an agency, I am now re-registered with Ofsted as of November 2023.
In my spare time I enjoy horse riding, the countryside, film & music, cooking and creative design.
I offer a warm, playful and homely setting to support my minded children in all areas of their learning and development, with tailored development plans for each individual child's journey.

Kayte is a great childminder, incorporating creative learning activities and messy play for the kids, inside and out, keeping them occupied with regular trips to the park and library, my daughter has learnt so much in the past 2 months. Kayte takes pride in her work , guides new parents and enjoys what she does. She’s a great credit to the childcare community.

Kayte has always created a warm welcoming atmosphere in her setting and was amazingly accommodating when our daughter had settling in sessions over the summer holidays. She is empathetic to parents worries and quick to communicate any issues that arise. She goes above and beyond to care for each child and make them feel comfortable and relaxed. Kayte is a great role model to all the children she looks after.
