Hi Mums & Dads,
My name is Bernadette & my setting is
Happy Days Child Care.I am an Ofsted registered Childminder working from my home in the SM1 area. My current Ofsted grading is GOOD (July 2019)
I am the mother of 3 boys (21, 18 & 15 years).
I am a member of Childcare.co.uk, who also insures my business. I have my own transport that is fully insured. I am signed up to the Government Tax Free Childcare & can provide references if required.
I have a fully stocked toy room with toys to suit all ages. I visit local parks, libraries, messy play, the farm & even the beach. If you would like a "home from home" environment, message me to arrange a visit.
I do not do preschool/school pick-ups or drop-offs.

I'm very happy to recommend Bernadette. My daughter was at the setting from the age of 9 months until she started school, and now my son attends 4 days a week.
Both children have absolutely loved their time there, and been really at home with Bernadette, her husband and the whole family. It's a really comfortable and calm place - every morning my daughter went straight into the house and is always excited about going. The setting is a peaceful place, but also with plenty of stimulation and variety, there are plenty of parks nearby and as long as the weather cooperates most days they are out. There's also a good range of activities for the children when they're at the house. Bernadette is encouraging and supportive, and also provides structure to their activities.
Bernadette always has time to talk about how the children doing, and is really committed to their wellbeing and development. I would thoroughly recommend her as an excellent childminder.

My son has been with Bee for well over a year (since he was just 7.5m old) and is so happy at Happy Days everyday he goes!!! He goes in with a smile each day & comes out bouncing at the end - sometimes not wanting to come home! He began 3 days a week but now goes 4 as he gets so much from being there. He is growing into a happy, confident, funny, bright & loving boy. He is thriving there; his development is excellent and being with a range of aged children (rather than in an age based room at a nursery), as well as being involved with all of Bee’s close knit family has helped shape him into an amazing boy. Bee says I need to take credit but his happiness & development is definitely a joint venture, and it’s beautiful to see how it’s also a true passion & love of Bee and her whole family to help my son grow ❤️. Being a first time (& single) Mum I was so nervous but meeting Bee I knew hers was the perfect place for us. As well as providing what you would hope; a safe, clean, accommodating and well equipped environment, Bee (& family) are so devoted, thoughtful, kind, considerate and highly skilled. She is flexible to my work and communication is great, letting me know about what food (of which he eats more & better than at home!), sleep, nappies and activities my son has done that day. She regularly takes him to the park and they do many activities each week including music, arts, crafts (of which I have some lovely pieces that Bee so lovingly & considerately helped my son produce - she makes sure all ages can do something), dancing, games … I also love when I get video or photos of all of the above.
I am sure there are many good childminders (or nurseries) out there but Bee is exceptional and I cannot recommend her Happy Days enough and I (we; my son and I) feel so blessed to be here. We wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. Thank you Bee 🥰

We are incredibly grateful for the care and dedication Bernadette provided to our daughter over the past few years. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she genuinely cared about each child's well-being and development. Our daughter not only felt safe and loved but also thrived under her guidance.
Bernadette has a wonderful way of combining learning with play, and we've been amazed at how much our daughter has learned during her time there. Her patience, kindness, and ability to connect with children are truly remarkable. We couldn't have asked for a better environment for our daughter to grow and learn.
Thank you, Bernadettr, for all the love, support, and care you've provided. You have made a significant impact on our daughter's early years, and for that, we are forever grateful.🤗

Our daughter has been with Bernadette for 2 years and is very content and happy (3 full days a week, from 10 months old).
We picked a childminder over nursery because we wanted a home-from-home experience, full of happiness, fun and love. They do lots of mini trips out, arts and crafts, baking. And we love how her family embrace our daughter.
We noticed her language hugely improve from just being with B for a month, along with mannerisms, such as setting the table, politeness etc etc
We have busy demanding jobs and don’t ever worry about leaving her, even when she was small - drop off was never a worry or anxious, as I knew she loved it. So much so that she doesn’t look back!
Our second ‘unborn’ child is already signed up to be with B also.

Our daughter started with Bernadette when she was 10 months old and I knew very quickly that it was the perfect setting for her. She settled in so fast (much to my amazement!) and always greets me with a huge smile at the end of the day.
Bernadette is absolutely brilliant, she is so kind and loving to the children in her care and my daughter adores her. She has a lovely family herself and my daughter loves playing with her sons when they return from school. She sets up activities for the children every day and takes them outside daily. Bernadette is really flexible, taking our baby on additional days without much notice and she also will baby sit in the evenings. Our daughter is vegetarian and Bernadette has catered to that with no issue, infact I’m constantly amazed by the number of new foods and meals Bernadette prepares for her- all of which she munches down and finishes!
Bernadette gives great updates every day with a full run down of what the she has been doing, eating etc. She also sends photos and videos which we love to see. We love that Bernadette sets up activities and ensures children of all ages can participate - we have some lovely arts and crafts that our daughter has made (all under the age of 1!).
Our family are moving abroad soon and we are beyond sad to leave Bernadette. I could not recommend her highly enough so I strongly encourage anyone to grab a place with her if you get the opportunity!
