About Me
My name is Sara Crowther and I am an Ofsted registered childminder, graded as Outstanding from Ofsted (June 2015 & February 2020). I am fully qualified with a BA (Hons) Degree in Education and Curriculum Studies. I offer full time and part time places in my home where children enjoy a range of toys and activities both inside and outdoors. I accept payment via childcare voucher schemes. I have been Childminding since 2006 and live in a large detached house with a dedicated toy room and large enclosed garden in the Fatfield area of Washington. I currently work with an assistant, we do drop offs and pick ups at Biddick Primary School. Lunch time Nursery drop offs/pick ups available to or from other local nurseries may be considered.

I have a wealth of experience working with children of all ages and abilities to provide a high standard of care. I offer opportunities, activities and experiences that enhance children's development to help children achieve to their full potential. Certificates are also held in the following: Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, First Aid, SENCo for Childminders. Experience working with children with allergies and intolerances.

We used Sara and Emma as our childminder last year before our little one transitioned into school nursery. We found Sara and Emma to be very warm and friendly. They are so good at what they do. If we ever had a week off for holiday or even just the weekend, our daughter was asking to go back to “my Sara” by the Monday again.
Some things to expect are:
-fantastic trips out with amazing learning experiences
- book of the month, a themed month where they learn all about the book that has been carefully chosen and including activities relating to the theme (the hungry caterpillar for example, they actually grew their own chrysalis and watched them bloom into beautiful butterfly’s)
-learning targets. Sara will pinpoint what your child is behind in (colours, numbers etc) and help them in that area in a fun way.

We absolutely love Sara and Emma and the service they provide for our daughter. She is almost 2 now; she adores going there and has done since she turned 9 months old. I’m always updated throughout the day, they reassure us with any developmental questions and our little girl is happy as ever when she’s there. She always asked for “Sara” and “Emma”! We couldn’t have a chosen a better provider

My little one joined Sara and Emma and just 6months old and they truly feel like family to us now. As soon as i met Sara and visited her setting i knew she was perfect - a home away from home truly describes it. The attention to care, learning and communication is outstanding and i couldn’t have found better if i tried. The activities and adventures are endless and Sara shares all the fun with updates and daily pictures, which is lovely especially if you’re at work missing them. Their progress and development is all documented and it’s lovely to look back over the years in the personalised report book to see how far my little one has came thanks to Sara and Emma’s warming environment. Sara is a true professional and i won’t ever stop recommending her setting to others. 100/10 ✨

Sara is amazing and we couldn't be happier her childcare services. We found Sara & Emma through a glowing personal recommendation and now we understand why she was so highly recommended in the first place! Our 17month toddler comes home so so happy, it's amazing to see her development come on so much (She was quite a clingy baby and is now a toddler who's full of confidence!). We receive amazing photos + updates of all the themed activities, trips and crafts they get up too everyday! The personalised Christmas baubles and cards are incredible and never fail to make us laugh - mementos we'll keep forever! Sara's approach strikes the perfect balance of everything, she's professional, organised, honest and her communication with us is amazing. Sara & Emma provide a kind, safe and fun environment which is focused on development - they celebrate every single milestone along with us which is so lovely!

Our two-year-old toddler is always happy to go Sara's to play and learn... what else can you ask for? :)
Sara is warm and loving with children as well as honest and welcoming with parents.
She offers an excellent service not just by looking after our son, but by teaching him and by offering him a safe and joyful environment.
Very happy with her!

Our daughter was born during Covid and had little socialisation prior to starting with Sara and the rest of the team when she was 7 months old. From day one until now, three years later, she has absolutely thrived in terms of her development and she has also loved every last second of her time there. Everyday we get the most gorgeous photographs of all the activities they get up to and we have lots of precious, lovingly crafted mementos brought home by our daughter for Mother's/Father's day, Christmas etc. We really couldn't have asked for anymore in a childminder and Sara, Emma and Racheal have all taken the most wonderful care of our daughter. Our family will miss them all as our little one moves on to her next steps at school. Couldn't recommend them highly enough!

We had our Daughter with Sara from 7 months old and we could not be happier with the care she has been given. Sara and her girls have provided a fun, safe, caring and clean environment for our daughter to learn and grow, whilst also entertaining her with regular trips out! The most important thing is she absolutely adores going to Sara's and we couldn't be happier she was able to have her. Can't recommend Sara and Emma highly enough as they are brilliant child care providers!

Sara is a fabulous childminder and we couldn’t imagine our little boy going to anyone else. He started when he was 11 month and is now 15 month. He absolutely loves going to see Sara every week and has even started shouting her name with the biggest smile on his face.
The first time we met Sara, we could tell she was going to be amazing. Her passion & caring attitude towards her job is everything we wanted and more.
Sara used a monthly book to engage the children in different activities and learning opportunities. We are informed which book this is going to be via WhatsApp. This allows us to discuss and also engage with the book at home which our little boy loves. They are currently exploring “Going On A Bear Hunt”.
Additionally, Sara uses WhatsApp to contact us with photos, activities that have been done without the day aswell as any key messages/information. It is such an easy way to communicate as grandparents collect and we don’t always have the opportunity to see Sara.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend Sara enough. She makes going into work so much easier for us both. Our little boy absolutely loves going & it is lovely to see him enjoying his time with Sara and other children/adult.

I decided to go back to work full time from maternity leave earlier than expected and as any mum would be, I was nervous to leave my little girl and be away from her. First of all… Sara is AMAZING! From the very first time we met she instantly made me feel at ease and made the whole process of me returning to work a-lot less daunting. I could tell straight away that Sara absolutely loved working with children and her years of experience backed that up. She is extremely professional and so kind! I feel like I drop my little one off and I have full confidence that she will have a fantastic day! They go out on day trips, explore the garden, play with what seems like unlimited toys and have story book themed weeks to give children the opportunity to learn while they play! I honestly couldn’t be happier and I’d recommend Sara 100% all day. One of the biggest things for me was fear of missing on on seeing the smiles, milestones and funny moments but I don’t feel left out at all because Sara and the team capture all the important moments! i get daily pictures, videos and updates on what she’s been up to that day which is nice to look at on my lunch break. I can also see a massive positive change in my daughters progression and milestones! What I love most is Sara and the team celebrate these just as much as I do! It’s like one big family!

Sara, Rachael and Emma make such a wonderful team. They are so nurturing and professional and our little boy loves his days with them. Sara went above and beyond to make sure our little one settled well into her setting. As first time parents we were nervous to leave our 10 month old with someone new but Sara has provided a home from home that he feels so comfortable in.
The setting is so nicely set up and incredibly child centred which was exactly what we were looking for. The children enjoy such a range of experiences with Sara and the team, both inside their home and out and about.
We love receiving photographs and updates on the days our little boy is at Sara’s, such a lot of effort goes into all that they do.
We would highly recommend Sara as a childminder.
