Personal Profile Statement
My name is Brikena, and I live and work in Marylebone, where I am employed at a prestigious prep school. I am a dedicated and passionate educator with over 17 years of experience working with children aged 6-13, including specialised tutoring for the 7+ and 11+ entrance exams. My journey in education has spanned both state and independent schools, where I have developed a strong understanding of the unique needs and characteristics of each learning environment.

Working with children is not just my profession—it’s my passion. I take great pride in fostering a positive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally. I have a proven ability to build excellent rapport with my students, creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages them to achieve their full potential. The positive feedback I consistently receive from both students and parents is a testament to my commitment to education.
In addition to my classroom teaching, I have been delivering private tutoring for over a decade, helping children succeed in their academic pursuits. My experience extends to delivering virtual lessons, a skill I honed during the pandemic, ensuring that my students continued to receive high-quality education regardless of circumstances.

I also specialise in delivering EAL (English as an Additional Language) lessons, where I teach English to non-native speakers. My approach involves creating tailored lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement. My goal is to help all my students, whether native or non-native speakers, feel confident and competent in their language abilities.

As a mother of two young adults—a 23-year-old daughter and a 21-year-old son—I understand the importance of education from both a professional and personal perspective. My career has been shaped by my dedication to helping children learn and grow, and I am committed to continuing this work in all its forms.
