About Me
Giggles and fun childcare is a professional, home based childcare business, set up by myself Mrs Mandy Harvey, and im located in Ipswich, Suffolk.
My aim is to provide a warm and relaxed 'home from home' environment for your children, where they will feel safe, valued and respected, in a caring atmosphere. I will help your child to learn, grow and develop to their full potential, according to their individual needs and requirements.
I will always encourage your child to have the confidence to become independent and able to make their own decisions. We plan weekly outings and activities to a variety of local places including the local park, community centre, Party man,Mums and Tots, Needham lake, Felixstowe beach and multiple organised trips throughout the summer holidays.
I promise to work closely with you, in order to gain knowledge about your child, their experiences, and their likes and dislikes so as to provide a happy environment at all times.
My Experience
I am an OFSTED registered childminder, member and Fully insured through PACEY.
I have been working in childcare for over 20 years and was the pre-school room leader at a local nursery and i have ran a successful home based childcare service for 15years.
I hold an up to date paediatric first aid certificate, food hygiene certificate, and child protection certificate. I am SEN-CO trained, quality assured and a champion of children. I have a full driving licence and run fully insured vehicles.
I have 2 members of staff that work closely with both the parents and children all of which are DBS checked, and have paediatric first aid, amongst other qualifications.
My Qualifications
I am accredited, and can recieve government funding for both 2 ,3 & 4 year old childcare.
I hold current certificates in peadiatric first aid, Safe guarding, food hygeine and a clear DBS check.
I am SENCO trained, and hold a level 3 NVQ in childcare.
I am quality assured
I am registered with care to learn, amongst other organisations that can recieve funding.
My Availability
My books are currently closed until September 2026, Our usual working hours are from 8am - 6pm however I can be flexible and other days may become available. Please contact to enquire even if the days you require don't show as available.
I do offer an early start service at an additional cost of £6 per hour rather that the normal rate of £5.20 hourly rate

When our son first started attending, we were extremely apprehensive about placing him in any childcare setting. However, the team immediately went above and beyond to make him feel included and welcomed, while continuously reassuring us as parents. Within just a few months, we observed significant positive changes in his behavior and development, which have only continued to flourish over the years.
The team's dedication has been extraordinary. They have done everything possible to support our son, including attending specialized courses to address sensory issues and implementing the use of talking aids, which he mastered impressively quickly.
As our son's time at this wonderful place comes to an end, we realize just how integral the team has become to our lives. They will always be considered an extended part of our family. Reflecting on our journey, I can't imagine where we would be without their support. And I'm sure they'll be finding toys in high places for many years to come!
On a neurotypical front, I've never seen a better-behaved group of children. Whether in videos or during pick-up times, it's clear that the team instills excellent morals and values that benefit every young mind.

Mandy, Tara & Liza are amazing childminders. Both my two children have attended Giggles & fun. My daughter went for a year & my son has been with Mandy since 9 months old to 4 years old. We wouldn't have any other childminders looking after our children. They are amazing kind ladies, who take the time to get to know the kids & us parents on a personal level. They go above & beyond their job.
They take the kids out regularly to parks, beaches, forest school & much more. The kids that are nearing school age they start to get them to learn numbers, colours & writing their names too.
We highly recommended Giggles & fun.

It has been a pleasure in looking after your son, I know we have lost him to school but we get to take him to school in the mornings along with his sister.
My little girl has been with giggles and fun since 2022 and they have been absolutely incredible. Mandy, Tara and Liza are the most amazing childminders and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Their care and kindness is second to none and their support to not only my child but myself and husband have been phenomenal! The things my child has learned since being with them is amazing, her emotional and intellectual growth has been great and she has learnt so much and made so many friends being in their care. I am excited that my little girl will be starting school in September however also devastated that she will no longer be attending their setting. Mandy’s setting is clean, full of artwork and activities that the children have made and my child is always so happy to attend. The staff always have fun activities planned such as Forrest school, trips to the beach, the theatre, the list goes on! I am always kept up to date with pictures and videos and will always be notified if there is any issues. There is no doubt that my little girl has had the best start with giggles and fun, and if I am lucky enough to have any more children I will not hesitate to send them here. Thank you, we appreciate you more than anything!

It has been an our pleasure in taking care of your daughter, thank you very much for your kind words.
The pleasure was all ours she is the only one who likes Mandys singing.
We are devastated to lose her, but we all know she is ready to begin her new chapter.
Mandy Liza and Tara looked after my little boy from 10 months old until last week when he started school. There is not enough words to state the love care and education my boy got from these 3 ladies. Despite my son not going to nursery is is school ready and that is thanks to these ladies.
From days out to fun in the garden and a home from home environment - i highly recommend Giggles and Fun.

Highly recommend giggles and fun my twin girls have been going there for the last two years . Mandy liza tara have helped them grow and progress especially because one of has autism and the support thay gave her is second to none absolutely amazing place to send your children.

Mandy, Tara and Lisa have been a big part of our children's lives since they were 9 months old, (my eldest is now leaving to go to school.) The kids have loved their time there. They are always excited to go, and always come home and tell me about their lovely day. The ladies do an amazing job of not only looking after our children, but teaching them, playing games with them, growing their self-confidence and making them feel safe and welcome. We really feel like part of their family.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it has been our pleasure looking after your 2 little boys. Looking forward to seeing you all in the school holidays.
Both my daughters have used Giggles and Fun and I honestly cannot recommend them enough. Mandy, Liza and Tara are caring, kind and extremely knowledgeable. They used their skills to give both my girls a brilliant foundation before starting school but in a fun and interactive way. My daughters both feel like they are with family when at Giggles and Fun. They care for all the kids like they were their own. My eldest suffered a medical incident whilst with Mandy and not only did Mandy act quickly and confidently and make my daughter safe, she also reassured me whilst the other staff cared for and kept the other children safe and unaware. I have no idea what I would have done without the team for the last 10 years, they are truly angels!

I put my son into giggles and fun when he was 9 months, I was very nervous but he soon settled into his surroundings with the help of Mandy, Liza and Tara. Since then they have helped him grow into a kind, clever and polite little boy. My son has always loved nursery and I know he has been taken good care of, he eats a variety of different foods (some he won’t even try at home), there are so many toys to play with indoors and outside and I have a box full of craft and learning materials that he has enjoyed making at nursery. During school holidays they always take the kids out to different places, the beach being one of his favourites. Mandy, Liza and Tara have always been there to talk to about any concerns within nursery and at home. Although my son is ready for school, I am not and wish I could keep him at giggles and fun. This is not just a nursery, it’s like a second family and we are extremely sad to be leaving.

Absolutely our pleasure watching your child grow into a beautiful young boy
Mandy, tara & liza are all amazing childminders. Mandy plans days out with children in her care, especially in the school holidays where its fun fun fun. Mandy makes sure all the children are well looked after & she has a special bond with each child. I found my child learnt so much from mandy & the team & my child loved going to her house each week. I cant recommend giggles & Fun enough. Utterly amazing.

Our 3/4 year old daughter went to Giggles and Fun Childcare with Mandy, Tara and Lisa twice a week for approximately a year. She loved it and thoroughly looked forward to going. The business is run very professionally by Mandy which made dealing with her as parents very easy. To the credit of her and her team they create a homely environment that is safe, fun and also educational for the children. In addition they run outside trips to places such as the beach, the park and the cinema that our daughter always enjoyed. She has come out of her time there confident and prepared for school. I would thoroughly recommend this childcare provider to any parent.
