About Me
Hi, I'm Abi!
I am a fully-qualified primary school teacher with a wealth of experience educating primary school age children. I am particularly successful in enabling children to access learning in a way that works for them and I believe the key is having an individualised approach - which is ideal for private tutoring sessions.
I like to spend time getting to know the individual I am working with, understanding their personality, successes and challenges. It is only then that I can create a tailored plan to help your child reach their full educational potential and show excellent progress.
My Experience
I have gained significant experience throughout the past decade working in mainstream primary school classrooms - of which the last 7 years has been as a fully-qualified class teacher - but have also tutored across both KS1 and KS2 and am currently working as a specialist teacher of children and young people who are unable to attend full time education. As a result, I am extremely well-practised in both supporting children with educational gaps or requiring additional support in certain areas, as well as pushing those who are at or above their age-expected levels.
I have a very secure understanding of the different levels and areas of the primary school curriculum and the way in which children should progress and develop in-line with this.
I also have particular experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs and those who display challenging behaviour. I am a qualified Nurture Practitioner (hold a NurtureUK qualification with Merit) and have established and run a nurture provision in a primary school for a number of years. Therefore, I am also in a position to offer support and advice for families who are finding particular behaviours in their children difficult to manage.
My Qualifications
I am a DBS checked, qualified primary school teacher (having graduated with a first class degree from Canterbury Christ Church University). I am a qualified Nurture Practitioner and have completed extra courses in working with children with Special Education Needs and also children with behaviour that challenges. I have a car and a full driving license.
My Availability
I have availability on Saturday mornings.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
My rates are as follows:
1:1 Sessions:
£40 for 1 hour slot
1:2 Sessions:
£60 for 1 hour slot
I offer a free introductory meeting with the parent/carer(s) where we can first establish if I am the right fit for your child. I also offer my first session at a discounted rate of £30 for 1:1 or £40 for 1:2, as this session will be used to informally assess your child before an individualised plan can be made.
