My Summary
About Me
Hello there! My name is Sam and I am an reliable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing care and support to children.
I enjoy the outdoors, being creative and spending my free time looking after my two nephews, aged 6 and 7.
I have 5 years experience of working in childcare in which I have gained valuable experience of looking after children aged between 0-5 years.
I have recently started a new role at a SEN school in which I am thoroughly enjoying!
I am looking for some extra work for the weekends and I am free to work over the October half term.
My Experience
I have recently got a new role as Teaching Assistsnt at a local special needs school. This is a new and exciting step for me and I'm enjoying working with children of all abilities.
I started my role as Nursery Assistant in December 2014 in which I joined a great team looking after the babies in the baby room. I looked after and watched these babies grow into independent and cheeky toddlers as I have moved up the nursery along with them. I qualified as a level 3 Nursery Nurse and I also gained the role as Deputy Head Room Leader of children aged 2-3 years. With this experience I moved to another day nursery in September 2017 gaining the role as Deputy Head Room Leader in which I was permanently based in the toddler room. I provide a safe and stimulating environment in which I encourage children to express themselves through activities and play that cover all areas of the EYFS.
I have done the occasional shift for a trust which involves caring for children with acquired brain injury. I no longer work for this trust, however it was an incredible place to work. As a Children's Support Assistant I followed children's individual care plans to support their needs. I carried out personal care, assisted with feeding and support them with their everyday life.
Prior to my childcare career, I have 2.5 years experience of working with young adults with learning disabilities. In my role as Senior Care and Support Worker I used my warm nature to support individuals to live a fun and independent life.
I have grown up with my wonderful sister who has learning disabilities, where I have helped her with care routines and supported her with daily activities. She is a ray of sunshine and has taught me a lot about life. She has also taught me Makaton.
