Hello,

I am a full time nanny working in Teddington and have been since my first nanny role 7 years ago.

I have studied A level Photography and TV Production as well as Childcare.

I am big animal lover and enjoy learning about wildlife and animal behaviour in my own time.

I am an extremely family orientated person and I feel this is what has lead me onto becoming a nanny.

I am very organised and enjoy planning crafts, activities and outings for children, especially in school holidays. I like to involve the children when I am planning, if they are old enough, asking if there is anywhere in particular they would like to go, friends they would like to see or any activities they would like to do - as well as basing activities on their interests and ages.

I have always helped out with homework with the school age children I have cared for. In addition to this, I have also helped younger pre school aged children, who have shown interest, to learn to write their names and recognise phonics letters and sounds, and numbers. I like to make these subjects fun and exciting - making scrap books and setting up treasure hunts for example.

I personally believe the relationship between a nanny and parents is as important as the bond between a nanny and the children they care for.
Therefore, I have always had a strong working relationship with the parents I have worked with, as I feel children need consistency, with regards to routine, boundaries and their childhood experiences.

I would say the highlight of being a nanny is the pleasure of seeing a child grow and flourish. It is a pleasure to share and be involved with childhood milestones such as: first steps, first words, first day at school and school productions.
