Hi my name is Hayley. At Hayley’s House Childminding I provide a home from home setting; a safe, caring and child-centred learning environment. We are a small, friendly group, achieving the perfect balance between socialisation with other children and nurturing care. I have over 12 years experience in childcare, working with children of various ages and abilities. I am an enthusiastic, hard working young woman with a full clean driving licence and my own car.
I live in West Rainton village, ideally situated off the A690 and A1 and a short commuting distance from Rainton Bridge, Houghton and Durham City Centre and University. My home has a comfortable living area/play room, large kitchen/diner and secure outside play area. My opening hours are 7am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Activities are loosely planned each week relating to topics such as seasons, celebrations and stories and are adapted to suit the changing needs and interests of the children. I believe in following the children’s interests with “in the moment” planning to support and develop their own ideas, enabling them to challenge their own abilities and skills.
I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association and plan outdoor play and learning opportunities year-round. I believe that time outdoors is extremely beneficial to children's learning and development, as well as helping to burn off excess energy! We aim to spend time outside everyday as long as it is safe to do so. As the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing! Some of our favourite places to explore are Rainton Meadows, Durham Botanic Gardens and Washington Wetland Centre.
My Experience
I have over 12 years experience in childcare, working with children of various ages and abilities. I have been a Registered Childminder for the last two years after purchasing my first house. Previously I worked as a nanny for several families around the country starting in July 2011, both as a daily nanny and as a live in nanny. I have worked with children of various ages and abilities and have experience with twins.
I previously ran a karate club for children aged 4+. This involved planning karate sessions, interacting with the students and their families, enforcing good behaviour and reasonable discipline and encouraging confidence and self esteem. I have taught karate to children with special needs including autism and cerebral palsy.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
Early years places £5.50 per hour per child. Funded places available. Fee includes breakfast for children arriving by 8.00am, snacks and trips out, toddler groups etc. Parents/carers to provide a packed lunch.

Hayley is a wonderful childminder. As first time parents and as our first childcare provider she put our minds at ease straight away. Our son was so attached to us but Hayley introduced him so well to a new social setting and really brought him out of his shell. You can tell how much the kids in her care mean to her. She is gentle and does everything at a pace which is right for the kids. The environment is perfect. Lots of indoor and outdoor space with everything the kids need. Hayley takes everyone for regular outings so no day is ever the same. Communication is always clear with regular updates throughout the day which gives you the assurance that your little one is in good hands. We were so happy to have Hayley be a part of our son's life grateful for the impact she had on his development.

We couldn’t be without Hayley! First experience of a childminder as our 3year old son has always attended private nursery and I wish we’d found Hayley sooner! Best decision we made. Our little boy loves spending time with her. Sets your mind at rest as a parent to know your child is happy and well cared for while you’re working. Can’t recommend Hayley enough.

Hayley is our first experience of using a childminder, and she could not have been more brilliant. Our little girl has been with her since she was 10 months old, and we are very sad to have to move her. We have always found Hayley to be kind, trustworthy and reliable, and our daughter loves her. She is so thoughtful and always does crafts for special occasions. She plans trips for the kids most days, such as picnics in the botanic gardens, and will always check in with me first and send photos from the day out.
Couldn't recommend her enough!

Hayley has been looking after our (now 3 year old) twins as a nanny since they were 18 months; we are thrilled that she will be able to continue to look after them now as a childminder. Hayley is polite and reliable, and above all she is patient, kind, and loving with our twins, who totally adore her. She's really one of a kind, cannot recommend highly enough!!

Hayley worked for us, as a nanny, for just over a year. She is a excellent nanny. She is a trustworthy, professional and caring young woman. Our two sons absolutely loved her.
I will completely recommend Hayley to anyone. She is fabulous. :)
