About Me
Hi,
my name is Michelle O'Neill, age 57, living on the Elstob Farm Estate in Sunderland, just down from Sainsburys, Silksworth Lane - near the Barnes.
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder for almost 20 years and have full childcare insurance in place.
Prior to being a childminder I use to run St.Nicholas toddler group (Barnes) for a number of years alongside working part time and raising my own family.
I have been married for over 25 years and we have two children, the youngest is a Veterinary Nurse and the eldest working in Law. All my family have been police checked.
I have my own car and take children I care for to playgroups, soft plays and such, as well as various trips out to help stimulate, build social skills and to educate in a fun environment, examples would include parks, beach, farms, library/museum ,as well as various toddler groups and day trips.
Over the years I have cared for babies and toddlers, including a number of local school teachers children, I also carry out school runs (St.Mary's school - Sunderland , near Barnes) and have done so for many years.
Much of my work comes from parent recommendations.
The children will be in a loving family environment . Please see reviews from past parents. I still get an occasional visit from children I cared for many years ago, which is lovely.

My Experience
I am fully qualified and an experienced childminder (20 years).
I am a qualified first aider and have quality assurance level 3. All of my family have been DBS checked.
I still undertake regular training and development within my own time.

I use michelle for my two boys (2.5ur old and 5 months) and have done for the last 2 years. Shes a brilliant childminder - trustworthy, professional, postive and friendly. The boys are super happy and settled when they are with her and she always keeps me updated. Feel very lucky to have her look after the boys!

Michelle has looked after my little boy since he was 10 months old, and she is absolutely brilliant with him. She takes him out to toddler groups, to the park, to museums. He gets a lot of fresh air which is very important to us.
He thoroughly enjoys his time with Michelle and I regularly get updates on what he’s been doing throughout the day which is lovely. I would highly recommend Michelle for childcare, she really is great!

Michelle has looked after my son since the start of the school year and has been fantastic in supporting him as he started Reception. She looks after my son as if he is her own and he has developed a great relationship with Michelle and her family, as well as the other children she cares for. Michelle has a lovely welcoming home and provides a caring environment before and after school, my son always enjoys going to Michelle's house and settled in straight away. Michelle is a friendly, caring and approachable childminder, she has helped to make starting school a seamless transition and I would highly recommend her!

Michelle has been looking after my 2 girls (5 and 9) this year and has been brilliant at providing them with a caring environment after school. She supported my youngest’s transition into reception at school and has gone on to build strong relationships with both of them. Even though they are only with Michelle for a couple of hours each evening, she has tailored their after school activities to focus on their areas of interest and quite often they want to stay longer to finish them when I arrive to collect them! She is good humoured with them both and patient and treats them as she would her own children, which I think is the highest recommendation. I wish that we had placed our two with Michelle earlier as she has made childcare after school much less stressful than our previous provider and the difference in the girls when they get back home after school is remarkable. A fantastic childminder who I cannot recommend highly enough.

The review title says it all...Michelle has looked after our son Axel since he was 6months old until he started nursery and she’s currently looking after our 7month old. Axel and Blake both adore her and have come on tremendously. It’s lovely to be able to leave your children in a loving family environment where you know they will be happy and safe. Thanks Michelle we’d be lost without you!! X

My little boy stayed with Michelle from the age of 1 to just over 3 (when he started nursery) and I can honestly say it was the best decision we made.
Michelle is friendly, warm and is always out and about with the little ones. Joshua loved his time there and made so many memories with Michelle 😊

Michelle looked after both of my daughters since they were three and four years old until they started secondary school, doing school runs before and after school. They loved going to Michelle's house and never once complained about going which speaks volumes! Her home is warm, friendly and welcoming! Michelle cares for the children like they are her own and you can be guaranteed their needs will be taken care of, both physically and emotionally. Michelle is flexible in her hours which is so important for working parents. I honestly could not recommend a better childminder.

Michelle has looked after my son since he was just over 2 years old . I actually took him out of private nursery care so he could have the security of a family home surrounded by all the EYFS Michelle delivers x best of both worlds! Not once did we have an issues surrounding the care and development of our little boy and she has helped nurture him in the way we do . Michelle is a warm and friendly lady and nothing is too much for her. She has a lovely home and my son has a great rapport with all her family and other children that she looks after. I would recommend her to any one that was looking for childcare without hesitation.

Michelle has been childminding both of my children (aged 3 and 7) for three years now and her care and attention to their individual needs has been outstanding. She provides a warm and welcoming environment in which they immediately felt comfortable and settled.
As a teacher, I feel confident that my youngest sons development has been enhanced by the quality time and activities Michelle provides with trips out and her dedication to develop the skills he needs to start Primary School.
Similarly, my daughter also loves spending time at Michelle's , her care and provision is amazing and as a mother I feel reassured that my children are receiving excellent care and support .

My daughter has been going to Michelle's since she was 9 months old, she is now 9 years old (which must speak volumns) and I could not ask for a better place to leave her. From being very small she has always loved going to Michelle's house, Michelle really takes the time to make your child feel comfortable and happy and really listens to them as an individual. When she was younger she took her to play groups every day and on outings when the weather was nice, always making sure she had a fun time and helping her learn and explore new things. I would highly recommend Michelle as a childminder, she really looks after every child as if they were her own.
