About Me

My name is Timea Okros, and I am a qualified English teacher full of drive and passion when it comes to teaching, with over 20 years of experience in both London state secondary schools and international institutions. My journey in education has allowed me to serve as a teacher, Head of English, and principal, enriching my understanding of diverse learning environments.

The pandemic sparked a pivotal change in my career when I led Szeged International School and innovated online teaching methodologies for our staff. It was during this time that I recognized the vast potential of online education to connect with students around the globe. While in-person teaching certainly has its advantages, I believe that, with the right approach, online instruction can yield extraordinary results; this I clearly saw in my students’ achievement. By cultivating an engaging atmosphere and leveraging my dynamic personality, I strive to create learning experiences that not only meet but exceed expectations.

My goal in online teaching mirrors that of my traditional classroom: to foster a relaxed and encouraging environment that prioritizes students’ interests while igniting their curiosity. I am committed to helping learners achieve their personal goals and reach their curriculum milestones.

Throughout my career, I have built strong, lasting relationships with my students, which has enabled me to thrive in diverse educational settings—from challenging state schools to prestigious international institutions. I am grateful for the deep insights I have gained into the unique dynamics of these communities and proud to have played a part in their educational journeys.

Currently, I spend most of my time in Hungary but travel frequently throughout Europe and to the U.K.; in the latter country, I am based in Hampton.

I love nature, animals, hiking, cycling, science, books, ancient philosophy, music, films, swimming and travelling. I have a wonderful 10-year-old daughter with whom I own a brilliant black shepherd dog.
