About Me
My name is Debbie and I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder judged Good at my last inspection in February, 2024.
I currently work alongside another childminder situated close to Tunbridge Wells Central Railway Station and the centre of Tunbridge Wells. In September 2025 my co-childminder will be retiring so I will be ***relocating*** to my home address TN4 8LD.
I hold a full clean driving license.
We are lucky to be able to provide a very spacious outdoor play area with lots of activities such as mud kitchen, sand and water play, ride ons etc.
Inside the main house the children have use of a playroom offering a wide variety of toys for all ages where they are able to have free play. A separate area is used for prepared activities including crafts.
We enjoy planning activities daily for the children as well as providing a stable routine. For example, we regularly visit a local Care Home where we attend a ‘songs and smiles’ session and also a local theatre for interactive story time. Due to our location we are ideally situated whereby we can walk to the local parks offering the children plenty of physical outdoor exercise.
We provide a home from home environment for the children and thoroughly enjoy our jobs as childminder's and have done so for a number of years.
We are now able to offer the Government Funding for 9 months, 2, 3 and 4 years old (Universal 15 hours and 15 hours working parent entitlement).
My Experience
I have been childminding since July 2000. I have in the past worked out of my own home but relocated many years ago and now co-work with a colleague. This I feel has been benefical to both children and parents, the children attending have plenty of other children to interact with and my colleague and I are able to draw from one another's experiences, knowledge and ideas to provide a fun filled day.
Since registering as a childminder I have looked after countless children and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoy sitting with the children playing with them as well as singing time and reading with them. The cuddles received from the children are an added bonus!! I am a very maternal person and treat the children no differently to my own. I am able to provide up-to-date references of children past and present and of course contact telephone numbers of the parents so that prospective parents may speak with them regarding my childminding services.
My Qualifications
I regularly update my childminding skills by attending available training sessions run by PACEY, the Tunbridge Wells Childminding Association both of which I am members and online webinars via Childcare.Co.Uk.
I hold the relevant Paediatric First Aid Certificate and have been CRB checked and also hold an NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education along with numerous other certificates having received training in safeguarding children, autism, reflective practice. Most recently, I have received training on how to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage including observing, assessing and planning to help children from birth to 5 to develop well and to ensure that they are meeting their milestones.
My Availability
As a home based childcarer I am flexible , however my usual hours are from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Fridays.
