About Me

My name is Sarah Hawkins. I am married to David and we have 3 children. We live in a quiet part of Church Crookham, Fleet close to both Crookham Infants,Tweseldown Infants and Church Crookham Junior School as well as local pre schools.

The most important thing for me is that children and their carers feel welcome an happy in my home. I believe it is important to work in partnership with parents to ensure their child/ren receive the best care possible. I use different methods of communication and ensure that parents are up to date with their child/ren's daily experiences and progress.

I love outdoor play with my own young children and will offer this to children in my care whatever the weather. This will either be in the garden, walks and parks.
Children in my care will also take trips to the local library, toddler groups sessions, spend time at home playing with a variety of toys, messy and sensory play, cooking etc.

My Experience

Working with children is something that I always wanted to do even as a young child.

I studied for my teaching degree at the University of Surrey and I have enjoyed a successful teaching career with over 15 years experience of teaching in schools in the local area. My teaching experience has been within the infant age range (4-7).

I have thoroughly enjoyed my teaching career but decided that I would like use my skills in a different role so in March 2016 I became a registered childminder. I have completed my Home Based Childcare Course through PACEY. I hold a paediatric first aid qualification and I have also completed many courses including safe guarding courses.

I have myself used childminders and nannies to care for my own children and appreciate what an important part they play in a child’s development. My teaching career has allowed me to develop a great understanding of the Early Years Foundations Stage curriculum, how children learn and develop and the best way to support young children on their learning journey.

My Qualifications

I have a BA Honours Degree with Qualified Teachers Status. I have my Level 3 Home Based Childcare Qualification, Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Qualifications.

My Availability

My setting will be open Monday to Thursday between 8am and 6pm for early years and school age children.
I currently have availability for an early years child (0-4 years old) Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8am-6pm from September 2025
