My Experience

Voluntary Work / Experience -

Babysitter/nanny - since having my own two children I have been working for the last 19 months with two different familys (references can be supplied upon request/meet and greet) I have enjoyed every minute of caring for these children but due to family circumstances and a change of location I am looking for a childcare career closer to Herne bay. I am a very active carer and believe that children develop more from experience and the outdoors rather than being kept inside. Through this time with the children I have been caring for we completed at least two craft acticitys each week and countless days out including; woodland and beach trips, zoos, parks, reindeer centres, aquariums, indoor play areas and the list goes on! I have built an amazing portfolio for parents/carers to be able to view to get a greater understanding of the care and provision I provide.

Kiddies corner day care - January 2010 to July 2015
Playgroup Assistant: Setting up activities and working alongside staff to provide exceptional care. Additionally providing support for children with moderate learning difficulties who are in need of extra provision in order to progress to the ability of other peers their age.

Placement - June 2013- June 2016
I have carried out extensive placements within a range of childcare settings within my area.

Nanny/Babysitter -
Part time carer for two children aged 4 and 2. This job includes daily chores and household assistance alongside the provision and care to suit the children and family's needs.

Personal experience -
My son is nearly 2 years old and with studying alongside being a mum has proven a challenge at times but has been so rewarding. In being a mum myself I understand the requirements and needs of children and the level of care expected from parents and family's. My experience as a mum is reflected through my daily practice and high levels of care provided.

BA (Hons) Health Studies combined with Early Childhood Studies: grade achieved - 2:1
• Promoting and Improving Health – A detailed understanding of the concepts of health, wellbeing, health promotion and public health and social policy.
• Dissertation - A deep exploration into the influence media has upon society and the way children stereotype women. Enhancing organisation and self discipline.
• Inequalities in health - Examining inequalities within society can potentially pose harm to the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities and the wider society.

Cache level 3 - Canterbury community college, Kent: September 2011 - July 2013
Grade obtained: A (Distinction)
150 hours of placement experience within a range of childcare settings. This provided a range of skills and experience to support my education and personal ability when working with children and their families.

GCSE’s - Herne Bay High school, Kent: September 2006 - July 2011
12 GCSE’s A* - C including Maths, English and Science.
