My Requirements
Hello hello!
We are looking for some support with our wonderful 10 year old daughter:
Part-Time Nanny/Mother’s Help (16-20 hours/week) – Lewes, UK
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
We are looking for someone special—not just a nanny, but a warm, thoughtful presence who will take the time to truly get to know our ten-year-old daughter, honouring her unique way of experiencing the world.
She is bright, creative, and deeply individual, and we want someone who will learn and grow alongside her, supporting her in a way that feels safe, respectful, and empowering.
We have been unexpectedly homeschooling her since October last year, when she totally burned out under the pressures of the school system. We are looking for help during school hours (fixed hours) and possibly evening and weekend babysitting (ad hoc)
This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of her world, to help her build trust and confidence, and to support her in navigating life on her own terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a relationship of trust and respect, responding to our daughter’s unique needs.
- Support her in ways that feel flexible, responsive, and empowering.
- Encourage her curiosity and creativity through project-based learning activities, engaging outings, and exploring her interests together.
- Offer guidance with routines in a low-pressure, adaptable way.
- Be a calm, steady presence, supporting emotional regulation.
Who This Role Would Suit:
- Someone who is naturally warm, patient, and attuned to a child’s needs.
- A person who values deep, authentic connection and sees children as full individuals.
- Someone with an interest in learning neurodiverse-friendly childcare skills and approaches.
- A respectful, playful, and creative person who would enjoy engaging in project-based learning activities.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children in any capacity (nanny, teacher, TA, mentor, therapist’s assistant, etc.).
- An interest in learning neurodiverse-friendly childcare skills and approaches.
- Ability to create a calm, stable, and low-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to use a respectful, responsive approach.
Bonus Experience (Not Essential, But Preferred):
- Previous experience or training in autism, ADHD, or other neurodivergent support needs.
- Understanding of respectful, autonomy-supportive approaches to childcare.
- Experience in an educational, therapeutic, or alternative schooling environment.
- A love for creative play, storytelling, or sensory-friendly activities.
If you feel like this role could be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you!
