My Experience

I am fully qualified in Childcare with a wealth of experience working in the childcare sector. I have also previously Project managed the setting up of two Childrens Day Nurseries and an Out of School Club in Godmanchester Huntingdon, together with the new build of a fourth Nursery in Huntingdon.
I successfully managed the running of the Godmanchester centres for ten years before unfortunately being forced to sell them as going concerns in 2003, due to ill health at that time.

Polly Pippins Childcare is registered with OFSTED and functions from four of the main rooms on the ground floor of my home. As child numbers increase, the setting will ‘grow’ into other rooms on the ground floor, and accordingly additional members of Staff will be appointed in order to ensure that correct Adult to Child ratios are met, in compliance with OFSTED regulations and the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.

We have an 18 space Car Park and all activity relating to this setting takes place at the rear of the building and within a safe and secure enclosed garden area behind the property.
All rooms have free flow access into a covered porch which runs the length of the building .
Our entrance porch is enclosed so creates a secure access for parents and a place for children’s coats and shoes as well as additional opportunities for messy play. Doors from here allow free flow onto the large enclosed garden.

Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for the care and early education of babies and young children, and to meet the childcare needs of parents living and working within the local community. The Setting is open from 07:30 to 17:45 and our registration is for 40 children ranging in age from 3 Months to school age. We are not currently running at this level however, as we are gradually developing rooms in order to grow our setting.

At Polly Pippins Childcare we like to maintain a balance of education, creativity and most of all fun so there are plenty of exciting activities on offer to satisfy even the most active and curious mind. Children have the opportunity to play in sand or water as well as paint, stick and play with dough.
There are regular baking sessions and in the spring and summer months we sow seeds and grow our own flowers and vegetables.

At Polly Pippins we make sure every child has a home-from-home when they are away from the loving arms of their parents. A caring place with lots of cuddles and of course rest time when the baby or child needs it.

By providing a friendly, loving and stimulating environment we hope to develop little individuals with a positive image of themselves and others.

We know that to make a child feel comfortable they have to know that they are secure and safe and are going to enjoy coming, and with our winning combination of a warm home environment, stimulating play opportunities, loving staff, and home cooked meals we know that we are providing a Menu for happiness, thereby giving you Peace of mind.

My Qualifications

Diploma in Pre-school Practice. Paediatric First Aid Trained. Over 30 years experience in owning and managing Children's Day Nurseries. OFSTED Registered and in November 2022 at our Grading Inspection awarded 'Outstanding'.

My Availability

We are open from 07.30 until 17.45 from Monday through to Friday. Parents who need childcare out of these hours are able to make mutually agreeable arrangements with me, including overnight care if necessary. We also provide a school delivery and collection service to and from Lionel Walden school.

My Fees

• Childminding from £5.80 per hour

Full Week (5 full days) 07:30 – 17:45 £280.00
Full Day session 07:30 – 17:45 £58.00
Morning session 07:30 – 12:30 £35.00
Afternoon session 12:45 – 17:45 £35.00
These fees include a cooked meal both at lunchtime and dinner plus a substantial mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack consisting of various breads/crackers/cheese/cold meats/crisps and fresh fruit.
I operate on a sessional basis, so you have greater flexibility and the opportunity to drop off and pick up at any time throughout the session you pay for. I am closed for 2 weeks during the Christmas period, sometimes 2 weeks in the summer and also Bank Holidays.
