About Me
I am a fully qualified Norland Nanny of many years experience and mother of two grown up children. Over the years I have extended my training to qualify as a Maternity Nurse, Birth and Post-natal Doula, Night Nanny and Sleep Trainer, utilising these skills to work in a variety of roles. I continue to refresh and extend my training, attending a wide range of courses and Norland College CPD days. Throughout my long career I have mainly worked in the home childcare sector caring for children from Newborn to school age and beyond in their own home. I am equally happy working independently, in sole charge, or working as a team, alongside parents, sharing my knowledge and providing confidential sensitive care, support and counsel in an atmosphere of calm and order within the home. Through many years and roles putting my training into practice and specialising in the care of newborns, babies and multiples, I have accumulated a wealth of Knowledge and experience and an extensive CV.
I now look to continuing my role in child care, to provide support for families, share my knowledge and time on a part-time basis while expanding my own interests, pursuits and pastimes.
My Experience
During my extensive career in childcare I have worked for a multitude of different families both overseas and within the UK. I initially worked as a live-in nanny then combined my work with bringing up my own family by working in a variety of roles, running a creche, working in a nursery and then daily nannying as well as working in short term positions as a maternity nurse, taking on temporary nannying roles or working in my capacity as a sleep trainer and night nanny. I have wide experience of working through all the baby and childhood milestones, including caring for babies with reflux, introducing weaning, initiating potty training , solving sleep problems etc etc. Through my role as a maternity nurse and Doula I have extensive experience of working with ante and post-natal mothers and their newborns, helping a large number of families with twins, including those with older siblings to care for. I often return to my families on an ad hoc or short term basis, continuing to care for babies and toddlers as they grow and develop maintaining my experience across all age groups and keeping up with current trends and thinking in childcare.
