About Me
I am a qualified Primary Teacher, with a specialism in Early Years, living in Lazenby with my children (William - 10 and Sophie - 7) and Husband, Matt.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Leisure Resource Management, a Masters Degree in Property Development, and have spent 4 years teaching 2 - 6 year olds in a British International School in Egypt.
In my "free" time I am a Captain in the Army Cadets which I have been involved with for 29 years.
I am enthusiastic and active, and encourage the children in my care to be too. The television will NOT go on in my house!
I aim to provide a stimulating and welcoming environment, where the children can explore and become independent learners. We grow strawberries in the garden, which we pick fresh each morning in the summer to put in our porridge! We also grow different types of flowers and vegetables, and I like to help the children to grow their own.
I love being creative and inspiring children to want to make things, as well as encouraging them to explore and play outside whatever the weather.
My Experience
I have worked with children for many years: I have been a Volunteer Playworker with the West Sussex Children and Family Centre since 2008. In 2005/6 I worked as a 'School Assistant' at Steyning Grammar School, covering lessons at short notice when a teacher was absent. I also taught in Pre-Foundation, Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2 (Reception) at the British School of Egypt and Cairo English School, delivering the EYFS Curriculum for England and Wales.
I have been childminding since 2016, and have recently started my own nursery in Northumberland.
My Qualifications
I have a BSc (Hons) Degree, an MSc Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a Specialism in Early Years. I hold a current Primary Teaching Qualification, Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Level 2 Food Hygiene and have completed Level 3 in Home-based Childcare. I have had Rhyme Time Training, annual Child Safeguarding training, and regularly update my CPD through online or practical courses in subjects such as Behaviour Management, Autism Awareness etc.
My Availability
I am available week days, during term times. Occasional days during the school holidays can be negotiated.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
I charge an hourly rate, with meals as extra:
Snack = £1.00
Lunch = £2.00
Dinner = £3.00
