My Summary
About Me
Hi!
I’m Phoebe.
I am currently living in Epsom with my mum and little brother, working at Tulley’s escape rooms as a Games Master (lots of fun!), and completing a masters degree online through Huddersfield university. I’m also working as a teaching assistant during the week, at a special needs primary school in Leatherhead. I like to keep busy and love reading, creative arts and games.
I’m 23 years old and have a 1st Class Bachelors of Science Degree in Forensic Psychology. I have also come away from university with two certificates in Counselling, one at level 2 and one at level 4.
I have a full driving license as of July 2018 and have my own car. I also spent a few years working with St. John’s Ambulnce as a qualified vaccinator and events first aider.
I am employed by Academics on a zero hours contract so I'm also registered as a supply teacher/TA and have worked in many schools for both short and longer periods of times including 7 months full time work at a mainstream secondary school in Nantwich, Cheshire, helping students with all sorts of special needs in class, and 6 months full time work as a SEN TA at a special needs primary school in Leatherhead (where I’m on assignment at currently too). I have worked with academics since March 2020.
My A levels are in Sociology, Psychology and English Literature (ABB) as of summer 2018. My GCSE qualifications before that are in english (lit/lang), maths, french, history, drama, music, science (triple), health and social care and religious education. I came out with 2 As, 5 Bs and 4 Cs.
I was raised alongside many other children due to my mum being a childminder and before that, a nanny so I've constantly been around younger people my whole life. I have two dogs (which don’t shed) and previously have had a rabbit, hamsters, Guinea pigs, fish and cats. I'm really good with pets and I'm a non smoker.
My younger brother has Asperger's Syndrome and I am very well acquainted with peers who are neurodivergent, so I am used to not only the academic side of complex needs through my psychology degree, but also the real life experiences and reality of it. I have also completed work for the YMCA as a playworker, helping children up to 18 and as young as 5, who have complex needs.
I’ve completed NCS: The Challenge, bronze Duke of Edinburgh, and also achieved Surrey’s Young Superstar Award for starting and successfully running a mindfulness club for years 7-11 whilst I was a sixth former.
I’m fun, down to earth and very patient. I love arts and crafts, music, reading, games and learning new things. I have odeon limitless and a blue light card which can be very useful in planning days out and plan to soon renew my merlin annual pass too.
I have a wealth of employed experience with young people of all ages (4-18) and am qualified in prevent and safeguarding through my work as a TA in both primary and secondary schools.
My Experience
I've worked for my teaching company in different schools in stoke for over three years now and have worked in more than 10 different schools. I have two different DBS checks for my volunteering and paid role. I'm a registered first aider and cover teacher/Teaching assistant. I've been with SJA for just over two years now. I’ve completed various biopsychology courses so far at university, as well as mental health courses, learning about typical and atypical development and also had training through my teaching employment and the mental health academy through being part of the BPS.
I've also had employment through Staffordshire University as a part-time Research Assistant. We previously published a report for the art company and schools which included a lot of work completing and transcribing interviews with children of all ages etc. and much more.
I’ve completed various child psychology modules at university. My experience before that was a lot of looking after newborn babies and toddlers - my sister has three children I look after occasionally as well as friends now at uni who have children. Before university I was constantly looking after children from family friends and would really love to get back into childcare. I also helped my mum childmind for about three and a half years before that. I got an A in health and social care when younger and have continuously developed these skills since coming to university.
