About Me
Hi, my name is Simona and I have over 28 years childcare experience. I’m married with 2 children (Rachel and Duncan). I’m a fully qualified Child Care Practitioner and I have worked in nurseries for 14 years. Within my time working in nurseries I thoroughly enjoyed my role as a Nursery Nurse, I then took on the role as a Nursery Manager, managing a private nursery for 10 years. Having children of my own made me go into childminding which I’ve been doing and enjoying now for over 13 years.
As a parent myself, I understand the many anxieties parents / carers face when returning to work. Here at Little Haven Childminding is where everyone will receive a warm, home from home welcome.
Little Haven Childminding is registered by the Care Inspectorate and I’m a member of the Scottish Childminding Association. I am committed to providing a home from home, high quality and reliable childcare service in safe, warm and friendly surroundings, giving parents / carers complete piece of mind that their child is being cared for in a loving and sensitive way.
Little Haven Childminding takes into account the individual needs of each child and in forming good working relationships with parents / carers, I aim to complement and support the care and education of each child. I also aim to gain the trust of each child so that he / she can relax, play and learn whilst growing in confidence, competence and self-esteem in a safe and nurturing environment.
I provide a happy, inclusive and stimulating environment for children in my care. Children will have the opportunity to participate in age appropriate activities and experiences such as Arts & Crafts, Imaginative Play, Cooking & Baking, Construction, Stories & Rhymes, Musical Fun (Singing, Instruments, Dance and Movement), Free Play, Sensory Play, Outdoor / active play (puddle jumping, treasure hunts and nature trails) etc. We also make full use of the facilities in the West End by visiting local Parks, Museums, Libraries, Toddler Groups etc.

My Experience
My experience is that of the above. Any further information required can be discussed at initial visit and settling in process. All qualifications and certificates can be viewed on request and contact can be arranged with other parents for verbal references if required. Training and further developments of myself and the service is ongoing.
My Qualifications
NC & HNC Early Education & Childcare. SVQ Level 6 in Management. Paediatric First Aid. Child Protection. Triple P. Infection, Prevention & Control. Pre-Birth to 3. Food Hygiene. Getting it right for every child -Girfec. Participation with Parents. Training regularly updated and renewed according to Care Inspectorate Guidelines and or changes within the setting. Regular SCMA training workshops attended. Training and Learning ongoing.
My Availability
Full Day Tuesday and Wednesday will be available from August 2023 (8.00 am - 5.00 pm).

We used Simona for to provide after-school care for our son for 5years. Simona and her family are truly wonderful and made my son feel a part of their home. They would do many different activities after school often related to a topic chosen by the children. Most activities included visits to the local park, library and shops; alternatively the children would have free play or do some art and craft work. A range of healthy after school snacks where provided and help was given to my son with his homework.
It truly was a home from home and I would strongly recommend Simona as a child care provider

My daughter had a bad experience with a previous childminder, I knew straight away when we met Simona my daughter would be in safe hands.
Simona offers a perfect playroom for the kids within her clean and well presented home, with a intimate nursery feel about it.
At the time Simona cared for my daughter she also cared for a few other kids, this never affected the care my daughter received.
Simona also offers educational care, as said before almost like nursery care,
My daughter learned about colours, numbers, the wether, days and months of the year, also drawing and painting was part of my daughters day.
Simona kept my daughter active, by going on walks and playing out her spacious back garden.
I would highly recommend Simona for childcare, As a family we were sad when our daughter left Simona's care for school.
The best thing about the care was my daughter enjoyed going everyday.

My little boy was with Simona from aged 1 to 5 and loved his time with her. She is very caring and his experience was great - lots of learning, fun, trips and activities. Simona is also great at sharing information and kept us updated on all his progress and little milestones, as well as activities they had done each day. Totally recommend.

My young son was cared for by Simona and I could not praise her any higher. She is a thoughtful, fun and extremely experienced childminder. She has a dedicated playroom and records everything they do each day. My son loved his time with Simona and I would advise anyone looking for a childminder to snap up Simona as quickly as you can!

Simona looked after our eldest son from his first birthday for nearly two years, and it was a brilliant experience for our family.
Our little boy had no problems at all settling in (no tears!) even though it was his first experience of being looked after by anyone other than his parents. He was so calm, happy and settled.
Simona provided a wide range of age appropriate activities and took him out to local groups and activities. He was made to feel very at home with Simona's family and with the other children she cared for at the time.
We particularly loved her entries in his childminding diary, which allowed us to see such lovely pictures of his day. We still treasure them.
I wish we still lived close enough that Simona could carry on looking after our two little boys!

I've trusted Simona with my four children over the last decade and would recommend her to anyone. She is very experienced, child-focused, warm and friendly. My children all love her and were immediately drawn to her sunny personality and calm, yet fun, manner.
She is trustworthy, reliable, dependable and excellent in a crisis too.
If you're looking for someone you can trust to leave your own child with, I believe Simona is the right person for you!
