About Me
Hello! My name is Amanda, and I live in Eton with my husband and our 14 year old daughter. We also have two sons at university and a friendly dog called Louis.
I have been a childminder for 15 years and offer childcare for children under 5. All the children are warmly welcomed into our home and become part of our extended family.
I passionately believe in learning through play. I encourage independence, confidence, creativity, kindness, good manners, and a love for learning.
Activities are arranged to follow the children's interests, and I work carefully with parents to settle children in and continue to meet all their needs whilst in my care.
We enjoy outings to playgroups, playgrounds, soft play, local farms, and country parks. We have a large social network around us with lots of friends, and we enjoy being out and about in the community.
I have a large car with appropriate car seats and hold business insurance to get us to all of our activities.
I use an online learning journey app to share with parents their child’s daily diary and their development and achievements. Parents are encouraged to share their child's experiences at home, too!
My Experience
Before having my children, I trained as a nursery nurse. I initially worked in nurseries before starting my own childminding business. I love being spontaneous and flexible with the children to follow their interests and routines.
I have been childminding for 15 years now and have a vast amount of experience looking after dozens of children.
I have 2 Outstanding gradings from Ofsted.
My Qualifications
I am currently graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, latest inspection was October 2019.
Paediatric First Aid certificate in January 2024.
NVQ level 3.
Safeguarding training in June 2024.
Food Hygiene level 2.
Continual professional development by completing many online and evening courses on child development, child behaviour, and much more.
My husband and I, along with our older children, all have enhanced CRB/DBS disclosures.

Amanda has looked after 2 of my three children and I can recommend her 100%. She is warm, kind, gentle and patient. Both of my children suddenly started having conversations after being in her care, and I have no doubt that their communication skills and confidence were enhanced through being in her wonderful setting. I love the fact Amanda has a dog. Louis is such a gentle family pet and now my daughter enjoys having a pet but with none of the inconvenience to me! I trust Amanda implicitly and both children settled so quickly with her. If I had more children they’d definitely be going to Bees and Butterflies. It really is a home from home. Amanda takes the children on lovely outings and she also joins other childminders so that her charges can have a wider group of play buddies. Also, Amanda seems to be able to get all of the children to sleep at the same time. She is like a wizard! Look no further for a kind, warm, trustworthy new member of your family. Amanda has been of great support to me since becoming a single parent. 5*!

I highly recommend Amanda, she’s great and we couldn’t live without her! My daughter loves going there, Amanda takes the children to playgroups, parks, days out and meets up with other childminders so they're always busy out doing things and socialising.
Amanda follows a set routine with meal times and sleep. She cooks all the meals and offers a great variety of foods, honestly some of the things she gets my daughter to eat blows me away, especially as she can be fussy at times but since she’s been with Amanda she’s improved so much!
We recently potty trained my daughter and Amanda has assisted us with this process, it’s been so easy!
Amanda’s house is very well equipped, clean and organised, the children have a dedicated area for playing, eating and sleeping.
We really couldn’t ask for more and were very lucky to have her!
