About Me
My name is Komal Patel. I am an OFSTED registered childminder. I live with my husband and a daughter (16 years old). My setting (Silver Spoon Day Care)/home is based in Rayners Lane, Harrow.
I emphasize in outstanding, professional and quality childcare facilities within the comfort of my home. I offer places from 2 to 11 years old children. I also provide, full day childcare, school pickup and after school care and school holidays care.
I have a child friendly, well planned and dedicated playroom offering a wide selection of educational and fun toys. All the adult led and child initiated activities will be age appropriate. I am committed to promote the prime and specific areas of Learning and Development within the EYFS guidelines, to help your child reach their full potential.
There is a safe and clear garden with easy excess from the play room, to ensure children can enjoy the outdoor space at all times. I welcome the children’s input and ideas with a mix of adult/child lead activities like role play, messy play, ICT, music, going to the local park, etc., ensuring your child has a fun filled, educational, active and a stimulating day.
I encourage healthy eating and provide healthy snacks, milk and water through the day. If your child has any special dietary needs I will be happy to discuss it further and do the needful.
I have got Public Liability Insurance in place and am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY).

My Experience
I am OFSTED registered & have completed First Aid and Safeguarding children training. These trainings are regularly refreshed along with all the latest trainings relating to childcare, helping me keep my professional knowledge up to date.
I have worked as a class room assistant for nearly two years at Roxbourne Primary School (Rayners Lane, Harrow). During this time I have worked with various age groups, doing maths, literacy and topic work. This also involved working with children as a group and on one to one basis, depending on the children's needs.
It has been over 8 years, since I started working as a childminder. In this time I have had the privilege to looked after and care for children of various age groups, from as young as 14 months to up to 11 years old. The school holiday care too has been very successful and all the children have appreciated and valued the care and fun learning experiences they have had. I feel very grateful and happy to continue to offer my childcare services, with the positive and encouraging responses from the parents.

Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm.
I provide childcare for half term, term and summer school holidays. Please ask for the activities planned for holidays when you get in touch. I also provide after school care (includes pick up from the school, 3pm to 6pm). Currently I can provide after school pickup from Newnham infant school and Roxbourne Primary school.

Our child has been going to Komal for a bit more than a year for two days a week during term time and loves the days she spends in this setting. It's a warm, welcoming place and Komal is brilliant with the children.
Komal collects them from school and then has our child until we collect between 5 and 6. She has a small number of children each day and they seem to get along really well. They do indoor and outdoor activities and a huge variety. It seems a genuinely lovely place to spend time after school.
Komal feeds our child a good-sized meal after school - to the extent that some days there's no need for an evening meal as she's happily eaten hearty amounts of Komal's offerings. The food seems to be healthy and tasty and we hear good reports back. Komal also gently encourages our child to try new foods, which has been really positive - though always checks with us beforehand in case there are any concerns and is clearly really aware of both cultural and allergy dietary needs.
Komal updates us each day verbally and by message. We talk for a few minutes at collection, though in more detail if there is anything needing discussion; then a little more long-form by message later in the evening so we know what they've been up to.
We're really happy with Komal's care of our child, to the extend that we have already, and would continue to, recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent local childminder.

Our 2 daughters aged 5 and 7 years have been under the care of Komal for nearly 2 years. Komal collects them from Newnham infant and Nursery school and look after them until 6pm.
Both my husband and myself are very impressed by the care and services she provides. She always has a range of activities prepared for the kids to try every week and seasonal as well (thinking of specific activities for mother's day, halloween, divali etc) . They will often come back home very excited to show off their 'artwork' and other crafts that they produced at Komal. What really sets her apart is the structure and variety she provides, from dedicated time for learning (reading and maths for example) to more educational fun activities (puzzles, pretend play with actual costumes, outdoor play activities and may others) and even teaching the kids Makaton!
Her food/snacks are home-made, varied and nutritious. My girls have tried food at Komal's which they have never done at home! They will now have red pepper, thanks to her!
She takes time to provide updates on my girls including progress on any aspect of learning that she has noticed. She will also send out a daily text with photos of the kids enjoying some of their activities.
Before Komal, my older daughter attended a prior childminder setting. She was bored with the activities and intimidated by some of the older kids and was quite unhappy. I am very grateful for finding Komal and can appreciate the difference. My daughters are very comfortable and happy there. They are always looking forward to going there and actually will complain to us if we pick them 'too early'. They have made some amazing friendship there as well. This is all a testament to Komal for providing a child-centred, nurturing, fun and safe setting. What more can a parent ask!
I would highly recommend Komal, especially if you are looking for an all rounded setting (learning, well thought-out fun activities, safe, healthy snacks!)

We came across Komal's childcare services through a recommendation from our daughter’s friend’s parents. During our initial visit, we were impressed with Komal’s warm and gentle approach, coupled with her profound understanding of child development and learning.
Our two children, aged 4 and 7, have been under her care for approximately 2 years. Komal collects them from Newnham Infant School and provides an engaging environment where they have thrived. She tailors the setup for primary-aged children, offering a variety of entertaining and educational activities. Komal fosters a space for learning without imposing it on the children, cultivating positive behaviors towards their learning experiences.
Komal's childcare setting offers a diverse range of activities that our children enjoy, often bringing home art and crafts projects. In good weather, outdoor play and trips to the library or playground are regular occurrences. She provides healthy snacks and home cooked food which the children enjoy!
Safety is a top priority, and we appreciate the secure haven Komal provides. Our children not only feel comfortable but also encouraged to explore and express themselves freely. Positive interactions with peers have resulted in genuine friendships.

Komal was an excellent choice for my daughter’s after school care. She is lovely and organised. All the activities are well planned and my daughter absolutely loves going there. She has made many friends and is really fond of Komal. I would definitely recommend Komal if you are looking for a fantastic childminder. She provides a variety of healthy snacks and is really focused on learning and developmental goals. She provides a detailed summary after each day which includes the activities the children did, what they ate and highlights of the day. It’s really great. We are extremely content with the care Komal provides and are really happy we made the right choice for our family!

I have been a extremely happy with the care my daughter received. Komal’s home is welcoming, clean and well organised and my daughter had fun playing with all the toys and activities available.
She provides a wide range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise which my daughter would tell me about. What’s great is that many of the activities would be educational for beneficial in some way to children. The small group means she is able to provide more attention rather then just watch.
Komal provided healthy snack to the children. My daughter would not hesitate to tell me Komal’s food is more tasty then mine! What’s great is that the snacks were not toast, biscuits and chocolates.
Komal communicates well with parents so we feel included and reassured. We would receive a message detailing the snacks and activities for the day. Most importantly Komal is warm and friendly and engages with the children which sets her apart from other childcare providers.
I am happy with the level is care my daughter has received and I am grateful to Komal for providing a positive and happy environment for my daughter.

First of all Komal , myself ,my wife and of course our daughter wish to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for absolutely every second you have invested in our daughter to make sure she grows to be a beautiful child ,all I can say I wish we could have found you earlier but still we can not express in words how happy we are that we have found you.
Our daughter has learned so much and have managed to teach her so much not to mention the tremendous help you have been to us as parents ,I can say that we have learned a lot and our daughter is experiencing the best learning environment to grow ,to play and to learn to be ready for school.

I don’t have enough words to describe how much I love Komal and how lucky we are that we found her! In fact , I can say that we found more than a childminder because she became like our daughter’s second mom !
When I was looking for someone to take care about my daughter I didn’t know what means “a childminder “ I really thought that it’s just a person who looks after your child and it’s taking him in the park, but in months I realised the true sense of “this job “ and the huge WORK !
We loveeee Komal, our daughter loveees her auntie! it’s exactly a year since she’s teaching our daughter and in the same time Komal she’s “educating “ us like parents (in the good sense of “educating “ 😊😄 it’s not like you’re just paying someone to stay with your kid, no - if you will trust your child to her - you will have the chance to give the best teacher- friend to your child! I’m still surprised how much she’s in love with kids and about her positive attitude!
Want to say that I don’t have a lot of knowledge about kids and Komal all the time tried her best to give us informations , or suggestions in regards of our daughter;
Regarding the activities she’s doing with kids - she has one million activities, toys, books , garden activities- wich for me seems that every day are different!
Will mention that Komal doesn’t live close to our house, it’s 45 min of walking but will accentuate that even she lived 2 hrs distance I would have brought my little girl to her , because she’s literally THE BEST! professional , very smart , kind and smiley mommy 🥰
Since I’m bringing my daughter to her , I have the feeling that she’s really my mom as well who’s trying to help me whenever I have any doubts or “problems” with my daughter!
We appreciate A LOT all her WORK, her INTERES and ambition to give our daughter the best care, knowledges and love ❤️

Komal has been providing an excellent after school care for my daughter who is in reception at Newnham Infant school. Her sessions are structured and disciplined at the same time fun, interactive and highly engaging.
My daughter always look forward to go to her and is excited to share with us all the stories ,activities and games she and her mates enjoy everyday.
Komal also provides a well balanced snack to kids and most of the time my daughter skips her dinner as she would have had a sumptuous after school snack.
Each day is differently structured keeping in mind the school curriculum and Komal makes an effort to incorporate fun literacy and numeracy games and sessions.
We are very pleased with Komal and her facility.

My daughter started her reception last year in Newnham infant and nursery school in Eastcote. Komal provides school pickup and afterschool childcare everyday for my daughter, along with few other children from the same school.
We are extremely happy to have found a childminder like komal on this portal. She is a very well educated, a well organised childminder who not only just looks after the kids with lots of love, care, warmth and respect but also is an excellent tutor indeed.
Each day she plans new activities for the kids which is educational yet fun loving.
Komal does a lot of creative , physical and educational activities with them.
The snacks she provides is very healthy including milk/ yogurt along with a salad and fruit everyday.
Her environment is very safe and she has an amazing collection of creative games and books for kids.
If we update her with weekly school activities she will revise and plan out activities that help the kids revise the same like for example phonic sounds, numbers, animal week or safety week etc.
My child always returns with a big smile and sometimes doesn’t want to leave till the end.
At the end of each day we get a WhatsApp update with the days activities , snack and pictures and that gives immense satisfaction.
Komal is very caring, a very learned and loving childminder. She will make notes of the child’s progress and keep you posted.
I would thoroughly recommend her to all the parents as komal is someone every parent would want to have to look after their kids.

Komal has been looking after my 4 year old daughter after school since she started reception at Roxbourne primary school in September.
I am delighted with the care Komal provides my child.
There’s always a different and interesting activity for my daughter to do, from colouring and making bead pictures, to fun phonics and maths work. In fairer weather there’s plenty of outdoor play time too. When I pick my daughter up she always has a smile on her face and sometimes doesn’t want to go home!
There are also two other girls who attend Komal’s after school and my daughter had become firm friends with them both.
I also have to mention the food. Komal serves a delicious sounding menu and my daughter has been encouraged to try a new variety of food and loves most of it. Tbh I wouldn’t mind some of the snacks myself!
My daughter had also gone to Komal for some full days in holiday time and loves the activities, with plenty of outdoor play and park visits.
Komal provides a synopsis of the snack and activities and some photos on WhatsApp at the end of each day, which is much appreciated. She also always has prompt communication.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Komal as a childminder and we’re very happy that my daughter goes there.
