About Me

Hello Parents,
My name is Alisha and I'm currently studying BA: Childhood Studies at University of Leeds. As a nanny I have carried out various different activities such as;
1)Getting children ready in the morning and then taking them to school.
2) Responsible for the safety, wellbeing, care and development of young children.
3)Reading to and with the children.
4) Attending any medical appointments or social events with the children.
5)Helping children with after-school activities like homework.
6)Being disciplined with the children when required.
7)Washing and bathing children as well as changing nappies.
8)Providing healthy meals and snacks for the children.
9)Providing supervision and constant care to children.
10)Stimulating children to read and be active.
11)Playing with the children and taking them shopping & to the park. 12)Tidying up children's bedrooms and play areas.
13)General housekeeping duties like cleaning, washing up and ironing.
14)Planning and organising age related activities.
15) Preparing bottles of milk for babies.

As well as all of the above I have worked in an 'OUSTANDING' nursery as the role of a child care worker. I have worked with all ages from new born babies to older children. I have always had a huge passion and enjoy working with families and children particularly participating in fun and practical activities such as sports and dance.

To leave your child with an almost complete stranger is possibly the most important decision you as a parent would ever have to make that's why you need to be comfortable and 100% content that you are leaving them with a fully qualified/DBS/experienced person who will be like an Auntie to your child, who your child will be comfortable and happy with. I am confident that I can provide those requirements. When you've read about my experience and my childcare qualifications and if you decide you want to discuss further, please feel free to call me and I'll arrange for you to come and visit me in my home.

I provide care to all ages of children from new born babies to older children I am available on weekdays, weekends and in holidays too. I operate from between 7am to 10pm and overnights. A majority of my client are working parents; my flexibility gives them the comfort that their child is being cared for properly until they are finished.

I plan numerous and various activities on a daily basis such as; water/sand play, construction play, play-dough area, dressing up/role play and much more to support all areas of their development; (physical, cognitive, emotional, social and communication/language. The activities I plan for the children I incorporate the three EYFS prime areas of development with contribution to the four specific learning areas. Each child is treated as an individual and during their first month with me I will evaluate their strengths and areas for development; this will include all areas of development mainly social skills if it is for children under the age of five.

I see my role predominantly to foster in these children a sense of well-being and confidence to face challenges ahead; indeed written feedback from parents is that when they have been in my care for a short time, they show more consideration for others and have improved manners.
Some children who are very shy and reserved at first soon join in with conversations, games etc. and are settled in after a very short time which is very rewarding. My childcare is focused on a 'home from home' basis rather than an after-school facility; the kids are treated as part of my family when they are here.

I live with my mum, Shaheen and my sister, Aishah (Aishah is currently studying a degree in BSC (Hons) Business Management at University of Huddersfield. I live in a well spacious house located in the Great Horton area five minutes away from Tesco Extra, and numerous parks.

I have over two year's experience working as a Teaching Assistant at two different school's; Marshfield Primary School and Hollingwood Primary School this included:
1) Assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
2)Helping children in their studies and all areas of the national curriculum.
3) Providing general support and one-to-one assistance for children.
4) Helping children with their learning, playing and social development.
5) Assisting with the preparation of a comfortable learning environment.
6) Preparing class registers & accurately updating children records.
7) Delivering educational programmes and assessing their impact on children.
8) Producing accurate and up-to- date records and reports as required.
9) Meeting Parents at Parent Evening's & updating them on a child's progress.
10) Monitoring a child's performance throughout the year.
11) Planning learning activities& school trips with teachers.
12) Producing accurate and up-to-date records and reports as required.
13) Assisting in implementing Individual Education Programmes for children.
14) Organising and maintain books, learning materials and resources.
15) Providing extra support to children with special needs or those who speak English as a second language.

Also, on the weekends I offer private tutoring; I have a strong subject knowledge, a personable, professional nature and I am in my second year of university studying BA: Childhood Studies.

If you are interested or have any enquiries/questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Alisha.
