About Me
We are a loving family located in Barnes with three children aged 11, 9 and 6. We are looking for a warm and compassionate nanny plus 1:1 LSA for our youngest daughter. Eldest son (11) attends school in Kingston and two daughters (9 and 6) attend school in Putney. Mum and Dad both working full time.
We are looking for a candidate who will thrive working in both the classroom and home environment to support the whole family and who will embrace the opportunity to work with a child with special needs. She will have excellent organisational and time-management skills, will be proactive in getting to know the children’s friends, organising play dates, ensuring homework is done on time and planning healthy home-cooked meals. She will be warm and loving while keeping the children’s lives stable and organised.
Our youngest daughter is in Y1 and has Goldenhar Syndrome resulting in hearing loss and speech difficulties. She has an EHCP package which delivers 1:1 LSA support, speech therapy, OT and support from a Teacher of the Deaf. She has regular hospital appointments at Great Ormond Street. She has no learning or behaviour difficulties.
The 1:1 LSA role will involve supporting our youngest daughter throughout her school day, in her learning and emotional development. You will attend OT and SaLT sessions which take place in school and integrate the strategies throughout the school day to reinforce the sessions. You will plan any additional support needed for lessons, working with the class teacher and coordinate meetings between professionals, school and parents twice a year plus help coordinate the EHCP Annual Review meeting. You will also need to accompany her to hospital appointments (meeting parents there) from school and back again.
The 1:1 LSA role will provide the opportunity to work with a range of top professionals from different specialisms and the opportunity to work with a child with a unique set of needs in a supportive school environment. The role is extremely rewarding and there is great satisfaction in watching her develop as her speech improves.
The nanny role during term-time will involve picking up the two girls from school and transporting them home, planning and cooking a nutritious supper, supervising homework and music practice, ensuring school bags are packed for the next day and supervising bath time. Eldest son usually walks home from the bus stop; occasionally will need picking up by car.
During school holidays, you will organise activities and play dates for the children, cook meals, do the children’s laundry and keep the house generally tidy. A weekly meal plan and shopping list is needed.
