About Me
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for our 6yo daughter who can provide wraparound nanny care after school and during school holidays. Our 6yo has Goldenhar syndrome resulting in hearing loss and pronunciation difficulties. Our other children are a son (12) who goes to Rokeby School in Kingston and another daughter (9). Both girls go to Prospect House in Putney. Parents both working full time. A candidate who can drive would be preferred.
We are looking for a candidate who will:
- thrive working in both the classroom and home environment
- have an eagerness to inspire and support our daughter, enabling her to reach her full potential
- work well with others, including top medical professionals and school staff who are involved with the child's care
- have excellent organisational and time-management skills
- be proactive in getting to know the children’s friends, organising play dates, ensuring homework is done on time and planning healthy home-cooked meals
- be warm and loving while keeping the children’s lives stable and organised.
Our youngest daughter is in Y1 has an EHCP package which delivers 1:1 LSA support, speech therapy, OT and support from a Teacher of the Deaf. She has regular hospital appointments at Great Ormond Street. She has no learning or behaviour difficulties, is doing well academically and well-integrated socially with her peers. The role provides the rewarding opportunity to work with a range of leading professionals from different specialisms and in a supportive school environment.
The nanny role during term-time will involve picking up the two girls from school and transporting them home, planning and cooking a nutritious supper, supervising homework and music practice, ensuring school bags are packed for the next day and supervising bath time. Eldest son travels home from school independently. During school holidays, you will organise activities and play dates for the children, cook meals, do the children’s laundry and keep the house tidy.
We hope to find a candidate who will be with us for the long term. Our previous LSA / nanny was with us for three and a half years before recently relocating to the Middle East.
