I’m a mum of three children. I’m a OFSTED registered childminder, living in Balby. Doncaster. My name is Sarah. My children are 20 17 and 15. My eldest Daughter is taking a gap year from University and is currently working with me in an Assistant capacity and is fully trained in all aspects required.
I also work along side a Co-Childminder at the setting, also OFSTED registered. We work together to ensure we can help all our children and families throughout the year
We have recently taken on two part time staff so we have more flexibility for our parents. So we can stay open 7am to 6pm
We have two dogs, very loving and friendly. We also have a rabbit. All can be handled and looked after by the children (fully supervised)
Our setting is a home from home environment. Closed in safe and secure garden with many outdoor activities. The whole downstairs is set up for the children with an outdoor playroom for free flow play indoors and outdoors). We are out all weathers. Even have puddle suits to hand. We all love it
Inside I have all forms of learning for all ages. We love messy play. Play doh. Arts and crafts and baking. Older children I have many board games and ICT
We do wrap around care for the older children and cover Mallard and Warmsworth Primary school
Meals can be provided and children can also help with this if they wish as we love them being involved (contribution to costs is appreciated)
We attend groups and love going out Astrobound, Clumber Park, Cusworth Hall and much more
We visit parks and play areas and feel that children should have fun in many environments encouraging social skills. I have a seven seater car so trips out are not a problem, my staff also drive too. We have had trips to Magna in Rotherham, The Butterfly world, seaside and Conisbrough Castle
We love working with children and seeing them grow and develop and feel its essential to have open communication with the children and the parents. I use the Baby Days App for logging the children's daily activities and photos, plus this also records your child's learning framework all linking to the EYFS
I have my childcare qualifications and currently studying my degree in child development and doing an Autism course. So do my staff
We originally started our journey with Rutland now we have moved over to OFSTED

My Experience
I have experience and training. Having brought my own children up and training at Teaching Assistant level so have a good understanding of EYFS
I am currently undergoing and working towards Level 2, 3 and 4 SEND course, Im now studying Autism Awareness, Dyslexia Awareness and ADHS Awareness. I am also doing my degree in child development. My Daughter has dyslexia so have some current knowledge.
Our Co-Childminder has just qualified in SENDCO
I have been childminding for over 6 years. Learning and development qualification, paediatric first aid (updated every 3 years), safeguarding (updated every 2 years). I continue to learn by taking regular training to keep me up to date with any changes.
My Assistant(s) are studying SENDCO and also know (learning) Makaton
My Qualifications
Degree in IT and Business
CACHE level 3 Diploma for children and young people
Level 4 qualification in Children's Development and now working towards my degree in the subject

My Availability
We are available for local drop offs and pick ups from Mallard Primary School in Balby and Warmsworth Primary School. We also work evenings with flexible hours on advanced agreement- if possible and if doable
I will have funded places available from September 2024 for full time spaces
Having worked in the NHS I understand how difficult it is to get childcare due to shift work. So more than happy to discuss hours around your shift
