My Summary

My Experience

I have 12 years experience looking after children between the ages of 3 months - 13 years. I am happy to look after children of all ages including newborn.

I had my own baby in April 2023 so now have the added experience of those very early newborn days!

I currently work in a nursery having been based in rooms for 1.5 - 2.5 year olds, 2.5 - 3.5 year olds and in the Preschool room for 3.5 - 5 year olds. I cover in rooms for all ages when required including under 1s and non-walkers.
My favourite part of working in a nursery and with children has been getting to know the variety of personalities and characters you meet along the way. What is most important is knowing that the children in my care feel safe, happy and loved as well as feeling supported to use their freedom to explore and learn safely.

My experience prior to nursery means I am very comfortable with providing care within the birth to five age group and beyond.

I have had positions looking after an 11 month old girl until she was 3.5 years old, 5 year old boy (Year R) - getting him ready for the school day, walking to school, supervising and helping with reading and home learning & a 9 month old boy until he turned 1 - from breakfast until dinner including making bottles, feeding, nappy changes and playing!

Babysitting & Childcare for Families:
I have cared for children (and sometimes pets!) for family, friends and neighbours as well as parents I have spoken to in person who asked if I could look after their child/children.

I have had some experience of looking after twins, children with medical conditions/dietary requirements and special needs (autism/ASD, mild-moderate hypermobility.)

My Qualifications

BTEC First Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development (since known as Children and Young People's Workforce)
Paediatric First Aid
I undertake various certified CPD courses for work.

My Availability

*MARCH 2024 UPDATE*

I am returning to work from maternity leave as of March 2024 following the birth of my son in April 2023.
I am currently open to babysitting jobs during the evenings where I can bring my son with me (until he is happy to be left without me!)

To help families during the 'cost of living crisis' I have not yet increased my fees in line with the miminum wage which increased in April 2023 and will increase again in April 2024.
This means I will not earn what I am entitled to while caring for your child/children until I review in late March 2024. I would like to ensure you that this will not impact on the quality of childcare I provide. I would simply like families to have access to affordable childcare.

From April 2024 I hope to be available evenings on weekdays & morning, daytime and evenings on weekends.

As I have returned to working in a nursery my availability is based around my shifts and currently whether families are happy for me to bring my son with me.

After school availability will depend on which days and from what time required. Please note on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I am not able to do straight after school due to other work commitments.
I do not currently drive so any arrangements will need to consider walking distance.
