About Me
Single mum to two joyful, active sons
My Requirements
Single mum and two children (boys ages 9 and 7) living in Maida Vale looking for an experienced nanny/housekeeper with strong worth ethic for after school 3 days/week. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (if flexible, one-week Thursdays and the other week Fridays as I am on a rotating schedule with their father). Hours: 1-6:30/7pm
1. Childcare and Supervision
• School Pickup: Safely accompany the children from school or after-school activities.
• Supervision and Safety: Ensure the children’s safety at all times, whether at home, outdoors, or during outings.
• Engaging Activities: Plan and supervise age-appropriate activities, such as games, arts and crafts, or outdoor play, to keep them engaged and learning.
2. Homework Help
• Homework Supervision: Assist the children with their homework, encouraging focus and helping with tasks if needed. Children are currently in Y4 an Y2. Encourage independence and ownership of their work and help when requested.
• Assist with school projects: On ad hoc basis, assist children with preparing for school projects such as art or world book day type challenges
• Reading and Educational Activities: Spend time reading together or engaging in educational activities that reinforce their school learning.
3. Meals and Snacks
• Meal Prep: Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children and myself. We are a no Pork household. Please avoid consuming Pork in our home.
• Encourage Good Habits: Reinforce healthy eating habits, table manners, and routines around mealtime.
4. Household Assistance Related to Children
• Tidying Up: Help with light tidying of areas used by the children, such as their rooms, bathroom after shower or using, play areas, and the kitchen/dining room after meals.

• Laundry Assistance: Wash and fold/iron the children’s clothes and help with occasional wardrobe organization.
5. Encouraging Independence and Good Habits
• Routine and Responsibility: Encourage the boys to follow daily routines (like washing hands, brushing teeth, and tidying up toys).
• Good Manners and Social Skills: Encourage respectful behaviour, sharing, and kindness in their interactions. Do not discuss topics such as bullying, puberty, Sex Ed or other topics with the boys without mother’s consent.
6. Communication with Parents
• Daily Updates: Communicate with me about the day’s activities, any notable behaviour, or issues that arise.
• Flexibility: Occasionally adjust tasks if unexpected needs come up, such as extra homework help or minor errands.
General: I work from home 2-3 days a week and may collect the boys when I am able to. If that is the case, the nanny should make use of the time at home by preparing the meal, organising wardrobe, preparing clothes or tidying up per point 4 above.
First Aid certificate required.
