My Summary
About Me
I am a highly motivated and skilled early years teacher, eagerly looking for a new role within the sector. I have over twelve years experience working exclusively in early years and I take a lot of pride in the work I fulfil. At present, I have took some time away from day nurseries and I am eagerly looking for a nannying role. I do have previous experience working as a nanny for two separate families, meeting their needs of their family. I am eager to meet a child’s individual needs and create learning opportunities that are unique to them in the home and outside. As a nanny, being creative and thinking of home-based activities to do, is a strength of mine. I want to explore our local environment and visit museums, libraries, parks and play groups for children, so they can extend their social interactions. I am very amenable towards the family’s needs and dynamic and communicate directly with them. I can work with a family to embed sleep routines, support with weaning, taking children to extra curricular activities.
My Experience
Third in charge ? March 2021 – April 2024 ? Bright Horizons
I have been proud of the work achievements that I have been able to fulfil and the versatility I have been able to demonstrate during this role. I have worked across three different settings within Bright Horizons, and I have worked across the different age ranges, from 3 months to 5 years old. I am a consistent member of the management team and I have been able to support staff to know the importance of their role as an early years educator and a key person. I have gained experience of knowing what to expect from an Ofsted inspection and how to correctly manage notifications. I have led staff meetings in which I have taught about process over product, learning provocations and invitation to play. Proudly, I was also part of a management team that worked directly with a setting that received an inadequate rating, and with our support the setting received a “GOOD” rating from Ofsted. I am a designated safeguarding lead and I am often called upon to lead my own setting or other settings, to give management support. I also work directly with my team across the nursery, to improve standards of teaching and environments to work towards outstanding outcomes.
Live in nanny ? February 2020 – February 2021? The Ball family
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I accepted a live in position with the Ball family. I used my experience of working in a home environment to support the two children who was in my immediate care to learn and develop, especially during a challenging time. Their two children were aged 3 years (G) and 4 months (B). I worked alongside both parents as they transitioned back into work, from mat/pat leave. I did have to create engaging and stimulating activities to promote development for both children, to accommodate to both of their developmental needs. I worked directly with the family to meet their needs and to create a balanced work/family environment at home.
Nanny ? March 2019 – January 2020? The Knolle family
I worked effectively within a home-based setting to support the Knolle twin boys learning and development. I worked full time and adhered towards their abilities and needs. I worked directly with the parents and the children, to promote their learning outcomes. I was aware of my role as a positive relation and my role as a key person to project their development. I was able to provide the children an array of different challenges and experiences to extend their learning. I learnt a lot from the family and their Germanic parenting style and I tried to accommodate that into my own practice, when looking after the twins. We embraced a lot of the outside spaces, including forest schools and local baby groups.
Preschool room leader ? October 2018 – March 2019 ? Long road bright horizons
I was very lucky to be promoted to this position at the nursery in which I worked in. We had 71 children on roll, and we would have an average of 45 children in everyday. I actively engaged my colleagues, who were new to the EYFS, to the learning goals and outcomes and I supported them to know how to observe, plan and assess for all their key children. I also supported and gave direction on how to ensure that we promoted a safe and stimulating environment for the children to play. I did also help to encourage that our environment does need to support our British Values and our English As an Additional Language children. I did also help some staff with safeguarding issues that they found with some children. Whilst also planning, observing and assessing my own key children. I did have nine in total and I always ensured strong and positive relationships between myself and my key children's parents - knowing the importance of parent partnership.
