About Me
I am a printmaking artist and part time nanny. I moved to St Leonards from London in April 2021, I am enjoying my new life by the sea :). I am looking for some extra part-time nanny work to fit in with my freelance work.
I am a friendly, kind, smiley, gentle and patient person, who enjoys the company of children. I enjoy being outdoors and think this is where children are happiest too, playing in nature, exploring, looking closely at things. Going to farms or just looking for squirrels, birds, snails, bugs, cats, dogs, flowers, what ever is around to say hello to :). I like visiting museums or going to children’s morning playgroups. I enjoy drawing and playing with playdough with the children, being creative, reading lots, trying a bit of cooking, singing on the way somewhere in the buggy. I like eating healthily myself and like to see the child eating real healthy unprocessed food. No sugar and no telly is a good thing definitely :)
My Experience
I have been a part time nanny since September 2016, where I started looking after my cousins 1 year old, which continued until he was 3. This was 1-2 days a week. Since then I have started nanny positions working with different families in London. Mostly looking after 1 to 2 year olds, but jobs have included picking up older siblings from nursery and feeding them tea/ looking after too. I also did some adhoc babysitting for a 7 - 9 year old girl in the evenings and adhoc babysat my cousins daughter from 6 months to 3 years too.
Since lockdown the roles have changed a bit looking after toddlers while the parents work at home. It’s been a new experience with the parents around, but the children have got very used to the situation with the parents working in one room, and us in another, but we spend a lot of time outdoors too :).
Since moving to St Leonards, my main jobs I have worked with two families. One family for 1.5 years - a boy from 1 until he was 2, and then taking care of his younger brother from 7/8 months. The other, my current family in Battle, for 3 and a bit years now. They have a little boy of 3, nearly 4, who I have been with since he was 8/9 months. He will be starting school in September. They have a baby boy too, who I have been looking after since he was about 6 months old, now he is nearly 1.
Apart from nannying, I have other childcare experience assisting in a Montessori school for 2 years with 2-5 year olds at the Clapham Montessori 2006-08. I also assisted with art holiday workshops with children 7-11years at Arty Party between 2015-17. And volunteered at a preschool nursery in 2005 while studying childcare and education.
My Qualifications
Little Ones Paediatric First Aid course (October 2017). Foundation Certificate in Montessori Pedagogy (Sep 06–Jun 07) at the Montessori Centre International. CACHE Level 2 in Pre-School Practice Introduction to Childcare (Jan 05–Jul 05), Southwark Adult Education.
My Availability
I will be more available and looking for part time weekly hours from mid September, when my hours will be reduced with my current family as the older child starts school. I will continue to look after his baby brother one afternoon a week on a Thursday and an alternate afternoon a week will be with both of them for a few hours after nursery/ school, doing pick up and tea. I will also continue to do 2 weekend afternoons a month for them.
I am also available for any adhoc babysitting.
I have a car or a bicycle to get to jobs.

Tessa has been with our family as a part time nanny for almost 2 years now. She is my little boy's best friend and has become a part of our family. She is trustworthy, responsible and kind. She's a very creative person and loves to play and go on outdoor adventures with our son. She makes healthy meals and helps us tidy up. We can't recommend her highly enough and feel so lucky to have her as our nanny.
