About Me

I’m Vicky an Ofsted registered childminder, living on the Northfield/Kings Norton border near to the train station and buses into the city centre with my husband and two children.

I child mind from my home, which has a large living room and a garden with lots of toys and books, to encourage and develop children in all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Doing this in a fun way so the children don’t realise they’re even learning! We do dressing up, home corner, small world, puzzles, jigsaws, trains, cars, painting, gluing, drawing, play-dough, corn flour, cutting, sand and water to name a few.

I have my level 3 childcare qualification and worked in a school for 15 years until I had my youngest child. The majority of the 15 years was spent in foundation stage (nursery and reception) following the EYFS curriculum, which I now follow while working as a childminder.

I work in partnership with parents to ensure their child is making progress and link in what the child’s interests are at home to how we play and learn in a relaxed and friendly environment while they are with me. Parents can be assured that my home is always welcoming, safe and secure for your children to grow and develop.

I like to go out and about as often as I can, ranging from going to see the animals at the nature centre, soft play, parks, stay and plays, cafes, feeding the ducks, and we try not to let the rain stop us!
