About Me
Hi am Liz Latters I have lived in Heysham for just over a year and I have really settled well into the area. I am just about to open my child-minding business Blackberry house. I have one child of my own, she is three and we love to play together, especially art and crafts, baking and getting messy. I am particularly pleased she loves Beauty and the Beast and all the Disney princesses, as we play dress up and play make believe games about the stories We love reading together and we read at least three books a day. As a family we love to spend time together going out and about on walks and exploring where we live, I love listening to music, reading and socialising with my friends and family. We love to travel and go on short breaks away, but I am just as happy at home spending time in the garden planting and relaxing looking over at the fields and cows.
My Experience
My Back ground is varied and I have had over 17 years experience in the child care and education sector. I have a degree in Early Years and Education and I also have a EYP Status (Early Years Professional). I have managed a Nursery Setting, but I have also worked as a Nursery worker, a room supervisor and as a teaching assistant. My previous job was in a Children’s Centre as an Early Years outreach worker and Family support worker, as well the manager of the Outreach Crèche team. I have a great deal of experience working with children with additional needs, I have worked as a one to one support within a school and nursery setting, I have a vast amount of experience planning and facilitating groups for children on the autistic spectrum. I also have lots of experience dealing with challenging behaviour. I have a good deal of knowledge and training in paediatric first aid and I also have Food hygiene certificates as a good standard of health and safety is essential to me.

Advanced study of Early Years and Education DEGREE 2:1
Early Year Professional Status LEVEL 6
NVQ Level 3 Homebased childcare PASS
Level 2 certificates in Health and Hygiene and Safeguarding Paediatric First aid and first aid in the workplace. Safe Handling of medication
