About Me
Learning needs to be relevant and fun, delivered in a way that the student likes to learn. That way, he or she will! If that means conjugating verbs as a rap or dancing to vocabulary, so be it! I'm an experienced teacher and tutor who enjoys what she does.
If you need someone who can teach but also understand your child’s needs and worries, building my a rapport with them so as to support their academic success, please do get in touch.
Modern foreign languages (French, Spanish and German) and English as a Second Language are my specialism.
However, I have experience of teaching across the curriculum at secondary level since I’m a teacher who has several years’ experience in the SEND department of a mainstream secondary school. Through working with students there and privately, I have taught several different subjects in small groups or tailoring content to the needs of students on a 1:1 basis.
I incorporate study skills and support students with many of their subjects for GCSEs, because it is key to learn how to recall information, as well as how to approach exam or test questions.
I have a therapeutic approach which is innate. It is unsurprising that I worked as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) at a secondary school and frequently used my counselling skills.
I am experienced in working with students with a variety of different needs including:
- SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs/DLD developmental language disorder)
- Autism
- ADHD

- social and emotional differences
