About Me
Hello my name is Carla and I am a Ofsted registered childminder within the Chelmsley wood area, I hold a NCFE CACHE level 3 diploma in the early years workforce and my last inspection was November 2019 and was graded Good in all areas, I live in a 3 bedroom house with my husband Chris and my two children, Mason 12 and Melissa 10. Chris and myself have been together for 18 years and have lived in our current home for 12 years.
It is a non smoking household.
We have a lovely garden that is safe and secure, with lots of different toys and things to do. Also a nice sized playroom with lots more toys and resources for the children, lots of books, learning/educational materials, and arts and crafts are always available !!
We do daily activities including messy play, baking, story and musical time. We like to stay active, I encourage the children to stay healthy through exercise and healthy eating and plenty of busy days out.
I also help the children understand the importance of helping our community, an example of this was working with the children to make disposal dog poo dispensers with free bags around our local school to help keep our area nice and clean, this resulted in our setting being contacted to appear on National Television on channel 5, (Britans dog poo scandal) something we are truly proud of !
Both Chris and myself are pediatric first aid trained and both are DBS checked.
My main aim is for the children to be within a safe and happy environment where they can express themselves as individuals or within a group, and be part of a loving and secure home from home.
AND JUST HAVE FUN !!
When the children start with me I will put together a learning journal, this shows you all their progress and achievements while they are in my care, with photos and written observations. I keep you updated on a daily basis and send lots of pictures.
We take regular trips out to soft play, play groups, parks, the library plus more...
all these help towards your child's development and social skills, language and communication and with all areas of their learning.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder I worked for 17 years within the care industry and have spent countless hours taking care of children and young adults helping them to develop there academic and social skills.
Outside of work I have spent most of my life around children in a family environment, before I had children of my own I spent some of my small amount of spare time volunteering at the local infants school taking on similar rolls as a teachers assistant.
I have experience with children from 0-16 yrs

I have completed various types of online training/webinars during 2022/23 including British values, Safeguarding, Prevent duty, FGM and domestic abuse plus many more. Always taking on new training. Certificates are available to view, please just ask.

I am available to work Monday to Friday 07.30 am till 17.00 pm (including school holidays)
I also accept 2,3 and 4 year old funding.

Carla is a fantastic childminder. My son started the setting just after he turned 1. At first he screamed so much but carla was so patient and caring with him. She went above and beyond to accommodate my sons needs.
Carla would keep me updated on his progress throughout the day if I was worried with how he was settling. Carla assisted me with writing a care plan for my son whilst he was under doctors care, in order to provide the best service she could for my boy. She adapted to his needs with milk intolerance and nap time sleep issues. I chose carla because I felt she really enjoys her job and this is what a parent needs to feel comfortable leaving their child in someone’s care. Carla provided many activities, arts and crafts and adventures that my son enjoyed. She would go the extra mile to ensure that activities were fun, and the children can learn new skills whilst in her care. Carla truly loves the children she cares for and devotes her time to making them happy. My son will truly miss going to carlas, and giving her big squeeze cuddles.

I can not put it into words how amazing Carla is and how she goes above and beyond for all the children!! She really is a kind and caring person. She delivers such a great service and she is everything you want a childminder to be. I could not recommend carlas childminder enough! I am just so gutted my little one only got to spend 10 months with her. But in this time they grew such a beautiful bond and it was lovely to see my little one come home everyday with a smile on her face because of Carla and her friends.

Carla went above and beyond to cater for my children's needs and my working hours. I was a bit dubious about leaving my then 16month old son. Carla kept me updated with texts and photos! I could see my son was happy. My daughter loved going there to play, learn and eat carla out of house and home 🤣
When i stopped working, my children were absolutely devastated that they wouldnt be returning. They absolutely missed her. My son is back in Carlas care and he can absolutely not wait to go in. I love all the time, effort and expense carla puts in so our children can bring home some beautiful crafts on special occasions and throughout the year. I love how carla educates the kids through play and activities. Such a creative lady.
The house is spotless, the food is wholesome and theres lots of snacks and the communication is more than on point.
My son absolutely loves his " Larla" so much💗 best childminder in the world💗

Carla is a fab childminder! The minute I first met her and her family I knew they were a loving family and I automatically felt very comfortable. My son moved from another minder and I was worried about him settling but I have had no issues or concerns about him whilst in her care. She is a bubbly, happy lady and I would recommend her to anyone! She always keeps me updated with how my son is and communicates regularly! I feel he is in safe hands and thinks she does a great job! X

Carla was such an amazing childminder to my little girl. My daughter wasn’t very confident and cried at everything and everyone. After a couple of weeks my little girls confidence shone and now she’ll smile and talk to everyone.
I’m so grateful for the time my daughter shared with Carla. We’re going to miss her so much x

Carla is genuinely an amazing, caring person who always ensures the children are safe & happy at all times. She cares for them like just like her own! My son absolutely adores Carla and is always excited to go to her, I couldn’t recommend Carla and her services enough she’s just fantastic!

Carla is an amazing childminder!
My daughter loves going to carlas house, she feels at home and secure there! She enjoys the crafts and activities and it has built her confidence with other children and adults. I would highly recommend Carla, she is brilliant at what she does and all the children are happy and content and would gladly move in. It's a home from home and happy setting :)

My daughter has been with Carla since she was 6 weeks old. My daughter is clearly happy, cared for and loved whilst with Carla. To say she gets excited when she sees Carla is an understatement. She has been socialised, gets to do all sorts of play, and is learning all the time.
It's a great laid back setting, I am more than satisfied with the care for my daughter. I couldn't be happier with Carlas experience and professionalism.
