About Me
Hello, my name is Maria and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Carlton, Nottingham. I am 33 years old and mother to two little girls - aged 8 and 5. I have been running my own Childminding business now for over 7 years and I was rated as a 'GOOD' childcare provider by Ofsted in my last inspection.
I offer Early Years' care (0-5) and also school pick-up services from local schools.
After completing my masters degree and having my eldest daughter shortly afterwards, I decided to put the knowledge and experience that I gained whilst doing my early years degree to good use and become a home-based childcare provider. I have co-minded alongside my mother-in-law, who is also an Ofsted Registered Childminder, for the last 7 years.
As a parent myself, I appreciate how difficult it can be to leave your most precious possession in the care of somebody else. I do my utmost to provide a welcoming, safe and stimulating, home-from-home environment for your child. I have a garden and enclosed decking area with lots of outdoor resources such as a mud kitchen, playhouse, sandpit and ride on toys. I also have a large range of toys and equipment to provide activities for play based, child-led learning, covering all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
There are lots of groups/activities for all ages in my local area and we go out everyday. Examples of some of the activities we regularly attend: music and dance groups, soft play, local playgroups, farms, activity parks, national trust sites, playgrounds and open spaces.

Aside from having children of my own and Childminding for 7+ years, I have worked in primary schools, at a youth group and have been a 'Beat Bullying' child mentor for some years. I have also spent some time volunteering at an orphanage in Sri Lanka.

I was a little unsure how my experience of finding childcare would be as its the first time my little boy has been left with anyone other than family. I have also heard lots of negative stories regarding other childcare providers from friends. However Maria gave me the impression she was a very happy friendly and professional person on our visit and she was straight in playing with my little one. He's been several weeks with her now and the care he gets is fantastic. They are always out exploring or playing with the fantastic facilities she has at home. He's settled in well and comes home with a smile and always replies positively when we speak about going to see Maria during the week.
The Baby days app which is updated at the end of every visit is a great tool and i enjoy to look at this later to see what they have been up to. There is usually a photo or video which is nice and there are loads of child progression stages which are updated with info on how your little one is getting on in terms of stages of development.

I am SO happy I found Butterflies for my little boy.....He absolutely loves it here! I feel so comfortable knowing that he is in loving & caring hands when I go off to work.....Highly recommended aslong as you don't get jealous when your little one isn't fussed on coming home with you when you go to collect them, haha! And the Baby Days App that they use to keep you up-to-date with your child's day is awesome!
