About Me
My setting is called, little stars childminding and I had my latest Ofsted inspection in June 2015 and was graded as outstanding. I live with my husband and 2 children, on the Hadleigh / Benfleet boarder.
I drop off and collect from Thundersley Infants and Junior schools, I also offer care for pre-schoolers during the day, I can accept the free government funding of 30 hours for 2, 3+4 year olds as well.
I am ofsted registered and have an enhanced DBS check. I have worked in childcare for 20+ years, my roles have included nanny, nursery nurse, and teaching assistant.
As an early years practitioner I have to follow the EYFS for all children under the age of 5, and must provide learning journals for them all, just as nurseries, pre schools and reception classes do.
I provide a home from home experience including lots of trips to local parks, picnics, toddler groups, play centres etc. I also do a lot of craft activities, and have a large collection of toys and games for children of all ages and gender.
My Experience
I have been a childminder since my eldest son was born in 2006. Before then I worked as a teaching assistant in a unit for excluded children and pregnant school girls for 5 years. Before that I was a childrens nanny for 6 years, and over the years I have also worked in nurseries during the school holidays.
