My Experience

I have worked & studied children for over 16 years! I have gained lots of experience over the years, working in different settings with various ages & abilities of babies/toddlers/children.

I have worked in the childcare sector and education for over 15years with a range of ages and abilities. I have worked in Primary schools­ duties included working with different classes and age ranges, leading group activities, working alongside the teacher to plan and prepare activities, playground duty, implying policies and procedures and the school ethos. Managed crèches­ duties included­ opening and closing the setting, working with a range of ages of children, ensuring their experience was fun and entertaining, partnership with parents, ensuring ratios are correct. Day care nurseries­duties included providing a stimulating, enjoyable day for the children, planning and preparing activities, working with a range of ages, good team player. Pre­school setting­ At present I am a deputy manager and room leader in a pre school nursery. I am responsible of managing a team of 10 colleagues as well as having my own key children and working with them on a daily basis, I hold literacy and numerous sessions and have my own teaching and key group. I have good interpersonal skills and good partnership with parents, which I feel is important and provides good communication between school and home. In my current position I have close communication links with parents e.g new children starting I will do home visits, so children become familiar with new teachers.

My Qualifications

I have studied and achieved qualifications to a degree level, which I fully enjoyed completing. I started by completing the Diploma in Childcare & education level 3, I then progressed onto the foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies and finally in 2013 I completed my BA Honors (BA) in early childhood studies level 6 and graduated in July 2013.
