Hello,
I am Ofsted registered. I am a fully qualified teacher who was on the Senior Leadership Team and who resigned from my career in July 2018. I am South African, and absolutely adore children. They are my passion. I am extremely patient, reliable, friendly, loyal and I have a high degree of integrity. I am hardworking, and always strive to do things to the best of my ability. I form excellent relationships with all children and they are drawn to my warm and caring nature. I love seeing children develop and grow and their smiles and little comments light up my day.
I enjoy horse-riding, water sports, reading and personal development.
My house is a light and warm home, with a large, secure garden. I have all the resources to meet and exceed the needs of the children. The children go on a variety of outings, such as to playgroups; parks; farms; forest school; local libraries; museums; dance; Music; Arts and Crafts; etc. I highly believe in giving children experiences, and believe they learn a lot more being in a variety of different environments. I cook healthy and wholesome meals.
My car is insured to drive children around. My Mot is updated and the next MOT is due in April 2025.
I am registered to offer funding, Childcare Vouchers and Tax-free Childcare.
I also can offer ad hoc childcare if a space is available. Ad hoc provision can be any time period from a couple of hours to full day care.

My Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher who resigned from my career in July 2018. I was on the Senior Leadership team and at different times in my career have led PE; Literacy; and Teaching, Learning and Assessment across the schools I have taught in.
I have worked with many children with special needs and achieved the National Award for SENCO (NASENCO) in 2017/2018. As a classroom teacher, I have worked with children from 3 years old until 16 years old.
I have worked as a nanny in South Africa, the United States of America, and in the UK where the children's ages ranged from 5 weeks old until 15 years old.
I have done loads of babysitting and tutoring.
I have been a teacher assistant to two Reception aged classes.
I was a Supervisor of the Education Department at an animal park, teaching animal interactive educational programmes for all ages.
I have worked in a Day Care with children from four months until eight years old.
I was a supervisor for a Kumon Maths and English Centre.
I have worked as a one to one teacher in a classroom with a four year old child.
I have done supply teaching at schools from age 3 until 11 years and also with SEN children in secondary schools.
I started my childminding business in 2019, caring for children from 4 months old up to 10 years old.

My child was at Carla’s setting from 1 - 2.5years old.
I was apprehensive about going back to work but knew I had chosen the right setting when my child would run in everyday without looking back!
Carla tries to take the children out everyday to near by playgroups and parks, she cooks healthy meals and really cares about the children in her care. She is from an educational background and the activities she does with them are well thought out with their development in mind. She has great communication and I felt well informed about my child’s progress and any concerns about his development were flagged.
I’m so happy that we chose Carla and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for child care.

Carla took care of our daughter for about 1.5 years. She was always professional, kind, and absolutely terrific with communication. The activities she organized always had a lot of educational value, thanks to her teaching background. Our daughter loved going out for various trips - different parks, great playgroups, forest schools, and local museums. Wheather wasn't a problem. The food was healthy, and there were no sweets except for special occasions (even then, parents' permission was needed), which we appreciated. Also, great discipline (in a positive sense) with children. Thank you, Carla!

Carla has been a kind, caring and professional childminder for our son, always reliable and great with communication. We are grateful for her intelligently guiding his development and encouraging him to grow independently. Particularly happy that he had the opportunity for lots of different outings and activities.

Carla has been a fantastic childminder for our little boy!
She is so caring and positive, we couldn't have asked for a better person to look after him.
She has been providing photos and updates everyday, and we know he loves being in her care.
From park visits to delicious food, everything was perfect and we would recommend Carla to anyone looking for a trustworthy childminder.

Our daughter was with Carla from 5 months until 14 months old. Carla provided such a wonderful setting, full of activities and something different each day. We loved that Carla cooked all her meals using great ingredients and took such wonderful care of our daughter. Loved the use of the app for daily updates and pictures too. Would definitely recommend!

Carla is a hugely capable, incredibly kind, thoughtful and childminder.
Due to Covid, before we met Carla we hadn't ever left our 10-month-old daughter with anyone (not even family), so we were pretty anxious. Right from the start Carla made us feel comfortable and confident, and went above and beyond to help us make the process as easy as possible.
We were initially drawn to Carla's qualifications, which are exemplary, but we soon learnt it is her warm and caring nature that really makes the difference. From day one our daughter has loved being with her, and we have watched her thrive in the fun, stimulating, happy, safe environment that Carla provides.
Carla is one in a million, and we'd recommend her without reservation.

We first met Carla at the beginning of March while looking for childcare for our son.
Carla was the only person out of several that we both as parents felt comfortable and happy leaving our little boy with
Carla has a lovely home and huge range of toys and resources for the children to use.
Carla offers a range of mainly organic foods for children in her care and is very accommodating to any needs or requirements
Our son completed his first settling in session with Carla and she communicated with myself to reassure me that he was fine and what he had been up to while in her care
Carla has been able to answer any questions or query’s we have had no matter how small. Communication is an important part of a parent and career relationship and Carla has always got back to us in a very timely manor
I have recommended Carla to a friend of mine who has also now chosen Carla as the person they want to look after their child.
Carla is has a range of qualifications (making her super qualified and perfect for the job) and has a range of prior experience in working with children
