About Me
Hello! My name is Kirsty, I am 30 years old and currently living in Snodland. I am a kind, caring, bubbly and outgoing person and began my work in childcare over 10 years ago. For the last 4 years I have worked in a Nursery & have experience of caring for children from the age of 3 months to the age of 5. Babysitting outside of work hours has also led me to provide regular assistance to families with children ranging from new-borns up until 10 years old.
I have always had a passion for child care and this shows in my every day practice; I am enthusiastic, energetic, hard working, trustworthy and punctual. I recently became a mum to my beautiful baby girl born in July 2023, and there is nothing I love more the spending my time with her and watching her grown and learn new skills.
The time has now come where I feel I would like to progress and take the next step in my career and become a fulltime Nanny, an opportunity I am excited to take. I think having a nanny is very beneficial to the child/children in my care as they will get the one to one needed. They also will be able to explore new places and experience fantastic days out to aid their learning and development.
My Experience
My journey in childcare started 11 years ago in 2012 where I worked as a supply in a wide range of rooms ranging from the ages of 3 months all the way to 4 years old; after 3 months I was delighted to have been offered a full time contract by the nursery. At the beginning of the full time contract I mostly worked with the ages of 2-3 years with occasional support to other rooms. During this period of time I worked alongside the room leader, learning and being in charge of the room when she was absent. In 2015, I started working in the toddler room aged between 1-2 as acting room leader to improve and raise standards of the room. From this I completed my level 3 in ‘The Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Early Learning & Childcare)’ in March 2015 and within 1 week was made permanent room leader in the toddler room. January 2016 saw a slight change where I became room leader in the nursery room with children aged 2-3 years. On a daily basis I manage 4 staff and 16/20 children. On a frequent basis I carry out potty training and have experience in helping parents with children with behavioural issues.
I have also undertaken a vast amount of babysitting aside from nursery work looking after new-borns all the way to 10 years old. This involves all day babysitting to evening work including bath time and putting the children to sleep. I have also undertaken numerous jobs working alongside mothers to help them with getting into routines and some free time. I have always had a profound desire to work in childcare from a very young age and have ultimately directed my education and hands on experiences to reflect this.
