I live in Centeral Horwich, Castle cresent, BL6 7DT, near Bolton, which is in prime location to local motorways, Horwich train station and local bus links.
I use the whole of the downstairs ground floor of my property for childminding. The front room being mainly our play room, while the kitchen is used for snack/meal times, and messy play activities. The children’s artwork and parent’s notice board are displayed in the kitchen.
My own bed room is located on the first floor, office and bedroom. The bathroom facilities are also located on this floor, with step stools/toilet seats to help the children’s independence skills.
I have a fully enclosed garden at the rear of my property, which is bolted using a high gate and fencing all around ensuring a safe environment for the children to play learn and develop.
The garden has been remodelled, so that the children can access the garden in all weathers. The garden includes sand/water tray/ Brushes for water painting mark making activities/shells /pebbles/feathers/ football net/pop up tunnels/tents/little tikes bikes/ open access draws to work tools/bats/balls/skipping ropes/den building materials/chalks/mark making materials/ and lots more play materials.
During my time in my role as a childminder, I have cared for many children and their families.
My family are committed to supporting me as a childminder and they help me to provide childminded children with a warm, inviting home from home environment in which they can learn, play and develop.
My Experience
I have over 20 years experiences with working with children from birth to 11 years. This experience has been within many different settings, nursery setting, family center, Private nursery.
I aim to create a safe, fun, caring, homely environment for children to play, learn and develop.
The Children experience an extensive range of learning and approaches. The context for learning is challenging, enjoyable and includes creative and investigative activities.
The children engage confidently in such activities, and are prepared to risk making mistakes because they understand that they can learn from them. Through these activities they develop skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work.
Toys/equipment and activities that I provide, encourage the children to develop new skills and concepts in the course of play and exploration. Painting, sand, water tray, play dough, messy play materials, mark making equipment, music and movement, small word play, treasure baskets, outdoor play are just a few of the activities that the children participate in.
Some of these activities are carefully planned but others happen spontaneously a rising from situations which crop up as the day unfolds. I use these opportunities to give the children the time and space to work things out themselves.
I use many things around my home/community to extend the children’s development in all areas of the EYFS. The children’s individual needs and interests are used to plan play opportunities for each individual child’s learning and development.
Children attend many activities in the morning, toddler sessions, childminder drop in play sessions, messy play sessions, story sessions, music and movement sessions.
All children in my care follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, with planned activities to meet all areas of development, and have individual Early years foundation play plans.
Children have individual learning journals which are regularly reviewed and new targets/steps implemented ensuring childrens development progression. Photographs craft work, and other childrens personal achievements recorded.
Termly themes:- Child lead, developing each individual child's interests, linked to EYFS
All snacks and meals are healthy and home cooked where ever possible.

My daughter has been with Kelly for nearly a year now, it's like being with her second family when she is there. Within 5 minutes of meeting with Kelly I knew she would perfect! My daughter has come on leaps and bounds - I can't believe how much she has learnt whilst being at Kelly's. The children have a great social experience with Kelly's, not only with her family but with other children and childminders at various groups and soft play sessions. I love that Isabella comes home with a book each day telling me what they have been up to with added pictures too. I really cannot recommend Kelly enough - I couldn't imagine Isabella going anywhere else! :)
