About Me
My name is Fatou and I am 33 years old, I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in East Molesey. I have my Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner certificate and have worked in various positions up to deputy manager at nurseries around the local area for over 10 years. I grew up in Denmark until the age of 18 when I moved to the UK, never straying out of East and West Molesey. I live with my partner of over 10 years alongside our seven year old daughter and three year old son. I live a 2 minute walk between The Orchid infant school and St Lawrence Junior.
I have a deep affection for working with children and have long experience with working with all age groups, from babies up to preparing children with the skills they will need when starting reception. I have completed safeguarding, first aid and health and food hygiene certificates alongside my level 3.
Our house has its own designated setting with an indoor space of 350 square feet which includes two rooms for the children to learn and play and a separate art room which leads to a covered decking spanning over 70 square feet leading to a spacious lawn garden (to be finished by beginning of spring term 24).
Being born in West Africa and growing up experiencing culture from all over Europe, we are always celebrating different cultures and cuisines and the children are always being introduced to different views, ways of living and the various foods that they always love to try.
I enjoy taking the children on outings to Bushy Park, Hampton Court Palace and to other exciting places to explore and have great fun. We also love to do arts and crafts as well as sharing my Scandinavian love of baking cakes and cookies. I also have a strong focus on the educational needs of a child during the pre-school age and will strive in making sure your child is mentally and educationally ready for entering full time education.
I also offer pick up and drop offs for The Orchid and St Lawrence, my daughter is currently in the final year of The Orchid and will be moving on to St Lawrence next year.
I will be taking childcare vouchers and other forms of payment from the start of spring term.

My Experience
I have had over 10 years experience working in local nurseries. I started as a practitioner and found a love for working with young children and helping them grow. With this I began to further my qualifications, achieving my Level 3 in childcare and rising to the position of Deputy Manager.
My roles throughout the years have involved planning daily activities for each individual child and focusing on their development. Learning to follow the EYFS statutory framework and implement it into all my activities. My main focus is always to help children get ready for school and this is achieved by building strong bonds between us and the parents. I always follow the latest guidelines put in place and am continuously adapting my setting and teaching in such a way to prepare them as is currently advised.
I also have experience with babies and have spent many hours playing peek-a-boo till their hearts were content!
