Outstanding care

We sent our daughter to Sofia's childminding from the age of 6 months. Unfortunately, we had to change day care as we moved house a month ago when my daughter became 36 months. Sofia provided our daughter with a very safe and very enriching environment. Sofia takes kids out for an adventure every morning and she plans very exciting, interesting and calculated learning session each afternoon, while keeping a theme throughout the week. We were so impressed with the variety of the activities she planned for kids. Additionally, Sofia plans many excursions, from museums to seaside trips. The meals that she provides ensure a good healthy and variable diet (roast lamb, seafood paella, squash risotto, to name a few). Sofia provides detailed daily reports and photos at he en of each day which we enjoyed a lot. We are very sad that our daughter is not able to continue her journey with Sofia but we are still in touch as Sofia is and has been like a family to our daughter. We are very grateful and can't recommend her enough.

brilliant from start to finish

We were exceptionally lucky to catch Sofia at a rare moment when she had an opening and we have never looked back! She has a very clean & happy setting with so many things to do and entertain the children, inside and out! She invests so much time and effort in their individual development and every morning my son is so excited to get to her house and start his day of fun and learning!
Sofia offers the children a wide range of healthy food choices and always goes the extra mile with trips to museums and even the seaside! She is exceptionally patient and understanding, flexible and kind and really cares for her charges. You would be very lucky to have her as a part of your child’s early years and I couldn’t recommend her more, and neither could my son!

An exemplary setting and a top-notch service

Our daughter has attended Sofia's setting consistently for more than three years now (from 18 months old through to Reception stage), which is a reflection of the trust we have in Sofia, and the quality of the experience our daughter has at the setting.

The standard of care offered is exemplary – imaginative, varied and engaging. The activities are thoughtful and diverse, always supporting the EYFS framework, and have sped our daughter's development, from letter formation and numeracy to her wider understanding of the world.

We have no doubt that the glowing end-of-year report we received from our daughter's nursery owes a great deal to the support Sofia has supplied on the learning journey.

There are also regular visits to parks, museums, farms and zoos; the children have a good mix of indoor and outdoor activities, whatever the weather. The home-cooked menu is more varied than what we provide at home!

The daily reporting from Sofia is notably excellent – we have confidence in the care and education that our daughter is receiving because we can see the evidence firsthand, and read about her activities and meals, and what our daughter enjoyed during any given day.

Sofia has been reliable, flexible and unflaggingly energetic for the past three years, even working to continue to provide a strong service through the most challenging periods of the pandemic. I would recommend Sofia's Childminding to any parent of young children.

A liar

I went to see this woman's nursery as she advertised she had a space for Thursday and Friday. A lot of people wrote good things and I saw her taking kids to nice activities etc. To my face at the visit she was nice but the minute I said i would like the place the same evening she said she had already filled it. I noticed yesterday she had been looking at my child care profile so i decided to click on hers and she had blocked me. I then opened a new account to see why and I noticed she is still advertising the space so she clearly is a liar. Good luck with anyone that uses her.

Dear Dee,

Thank you for your feedback, however I am struggling to understand your response as I am so shocked and hurt by them.

Firstly you arrived at my setting without your child present and we had a good discussion about my service which you were impressed by and you shared with me about your previous disagreement with the other setting you attended. We ended our conversation on a positive note and agreed a follow up discussion.

Now I have been totally transparent throughout this entire process and I had explained that one of my current clients has requested extra days which meant I suddenly no longer had the availability, I believe I apologised for any inconvenience this may of caused, however if I did not apologise, please accept my sincere apology.

Secondly, As with all Childminder’s continuous professional development is paramount to running a good and educational setting and as a member of Childcare.co.uk I have access to the training they provide, which I regularly attend, this in turn means that my profile will always be accessible even if I have spaces available or not.

Thirdly I am surprised that you felt that I let you down but I can assure you that was not my intention as I pride myself on being approachable and friendly as you will see from my other reviews I run a culturally diverse setting with lots of play and learn experiences for the children in my care.

Superb - best place for your child’s Early Years

Sofia has looked after our daughter 5 days a week for over 2 years and we have been very happy with all aspects of her care.

Sofia is always happy, calm and very patient. She has helped our daughter develop through various sensory, arts, crafts and seasonal activities. We love the mix of activities and days out that Sofia arranges for the children eg the farm, museums, zoo, parks etc but with the care of a home setting. They do something everyday and our daughter always comes home with plenty to say! The children do singing, dancing, yoga, reading, nursery rhymes and one-on-one learning; our daughters vocab, counting has come on so well. Nutrition wise, very importantly, the variation, quantity and quality is perfect.

Without doubt the best start to your child’s early years life you could wish for.

Great care at an important time

Sofia has looked after my son two days a week for the last 15 months, starting just after his first birthday.

Her care has been excellent at this important age, and he has been well occupied every day with creative and fun activities ranging from drawing and making to visits to city farms.

He has mixed well with the other children in her care, and she is very conscientious in helping their development and keeping them safe.

My son has thrived in a home setting with a small number of other children and Sofia looking after him.

Brilliant Babysitter

Sofia has been babysitting our boy (now 10 years old) over the past decade. She is patient, caring, organised, and lovely with our child. Our son thinks she is brilliant and so do my husband and I! Our son looks forward so much to seeing her. We highly recommend her as a childminder with children of any age.

Outstanding experience

We have been using Sofia’s Babysitting services for years. Sofia is a very calm very professional and above all our children absolutely adore her! We know that with Sofia they are safe well cared for and they have bundles of fun. We have visited her setting and We have no doubts Sofia will be an excellent Childminder and we wish her all the very best.

Wonderful babysitter

Sofia has been babysitting our 4 and 7 year old for a while now.
She's lovely,reliable and makes us feel very comfortable, continually keeping us updated and informed.
