Hi! My name is Lucy, I am a patient, loving person with a natural affinity for working with children. I am a big believer of the importance of outdoor and creative play when educating and caring for young children. When nannying a typical day for me might look a bit like this: Breakfast/ dressing, a trip to the park/ farm/ toddler group/ class/ softplay, lunch, quiet time (reading books, playing board games, doing craft etc), another trip out somewhere, independent play (whilst I make dinner) and then dinner. Obviously this will depend on your usual routine and preferences.
My Experience
- I have 10 years of childcare experience including school work, nursery work, childminding, after school clubs, toddler groups and nannying
- I have experience working with children with additional needs including Autsim, ADHD, those with complex medical needs, complex dietary requirements and trauma related behavioural issues.
- I have regularly taken part in forest school activities as a part of some of my job roles and am hoping to train as a forest school teacher one day.
- I have looked after (in a nannying capacity) newborn babies. I have also looked after newborn babies and their older siblings.
- I have looked after young siblings with a minimal age gap.
- I have experience working with families who practice attachment parenting and gentle parenting.
My Qualifications
- Qualification in Home Based Childcare
- Science Degree
- GCSE Maths, English and Science (A)
- First aid
- Introduction to Makaton
