About Me
I am married to John and we have 2 boys Hamish age 19 and Ewan age 16. We live in Barnham and Ewan attends the local high school and Hamish goes to college in Chichester. I enjoy cooking, reading and sewing and spending time time with my family and friends. We do lots of outdoor activities together including walking and geocaching.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 20 years and have experience of all ages. Prior to that I was a full time nanny for a local writer, caring for their 3 children for 2 years. I made the natural progression to childmiding once my eldest son was born. I currently collect from Barnham Primary School and Walberton Primary School. I do lots of activities with the children such as cooking, painting, glueing, and messy play, as well as attending the local toddler groups, toy library and childminding sessions. I also like to take the children on varied outings to the local libraries, parks, soft play, Staunton Country Park, The Aldingbourne Centre and Amberley Chalkpits Museum. We access the local beaches and woodland as well as meeting up with other local childminders. The children have a large selection of toys to choose from, both indoors and out including lego, duplo, home corner, trikes and bikes. I have a fully enclosed, secure garden for the children to use with an all weather surface. This allows the children to access the outdoor environment all year round. The majority of my work has come from personal recommendation and includes the children of local teachers. All the children in my care have a confidential child development profile following the Early Years Curriculem which parents are able to view.
My Qualifications
I am N.N.E.B. qualified as well as holding The Cache Certificate in Childminding Practise. We both hold a current First Aid Certificate and both my husband and I have a valid CRB Check.
I attend relevant training sessions in increase my knowledge and keep myself up to date with current changes in legislation.
