I started working with this company as a volunteer in 2014. In April 2015, I was hired as a permanent part-time Early Years Educator and I dealt with children from 6 months old to 4 years old. I worked for mornings only. My duties include: • Effectively delivering the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met • Keeping records of key children’s development and learning journeys and sharing with parents and careers • Developing and maintaining strong partnerships and communication with parents/careers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs • Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories • Being flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc. • Encouraging other practitioners to have high expectations of all children and to demonstrate commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full potential • Establishing and sustaining a safe, welcoming, stimulating and encouraging environment where children feel confident and secure and are able to develop and learn • Promoting the use of informed observation and other strategies to monitor children’s activity and development • Preparing and using a range of resources suitable for children’s ages, interests and abilities, taking account of diversity and promoting equality and inclusion • Actively supporting the development of children’s language and communication skills • Promoting positive behaviour, self-control and independence through using effective behaviour management strategies.
