My Summary

My Experience

I have been working with children for over 10 years. During this time I have learnt and developed many skills to help support young people but recognise there is always more to learn and I am very keen to do so. My experience is primarily with children with disabilities and complex health needs, having worked in special needs schools, although I have also worked in a nursery.

Having been trained by nurses, I am confident in taking care of the children's medical needs. This includes giving regular and emergency medication, dealing with seizures, oral and deep suctioning, catheterisation, gastrostomy and jejunostomy, blended diet, cough assist, nebulisers and chest physio. I am also experienced in working with children who have alternative forms of communication and I am a qualified intervenor. When supporting children I want to create a fun and engaging environment for them. I can organise fun and educational activities using inspiration from the work I have done in schools. I am confident, proficient and extremely passionate about providing excellent care to the children I support.

My Availability

I currently work Thurs, Fri, Sat and the occasional Sun. I have just been approved as a respite foster carer but will have flexibility and will be available the first half of the week.
