About Me

Hi, my names Jenny and I am a newly Ofsted registered Childminder in Cirencester (Since January 2021). I’m 30 years old and have been working in childcare for 14 years :-) I have experience working with ages Newborn to 11 years old, At home I live with my husband of 10 years, married for 6 years, who is a primary school teacher and my daughter who is now 5 months old (November 2022).

I hold a Cache Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education, as well as being a Qualified Primary School Teacher, with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Primary Education and Teaching. I also have an up to date DBS, Delivering the EYFS Certificate, Safeguarding Children Certificate and Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

I will be running my business Puddle Ducks Childminding, from my home in the Chesterton area in Cirencester from January 2021. I care for children from birth to starting school (and older for existing children to the setting). I have lots of experience working with children, I have worked in nurseries, as a nanny and as a teaching assistant, but I am also a fully qualified teacher and taught in Primary Schools for 4 years.

I provide a home from home setting where children can be themselves, laugh, grow, learn and achieve in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I run my childminding business from my living room/dining room, which makes it a very homely setting.

The living room/dining room is the main playroom which has all the toys, books and exciting resources in that the children will be playing with and exploring throughout the day.
The Kitchen is where all the yummy and delicious baking and cooking with the children will take place (the children will not be allowed in the kitchen unattended).
The children will have continuous provision, access to both indoors and outdoors throughout the day. In our enclosed back garden, we have lots of outdoor toys and games, play house, mud kitchen, swing, slide, seesaw, sand pit and water tray.
There is also a gazebo, that will be up all year round to provide shelter from the rain and shade from the sun, so that fun outside can be had in all seasons.

We will regularly get out and about to enjoy a range of trips out and about in the local area, including the local library, soft play, music and story groups, forest school, nature reserves and Cirencester park. We will occasionally arrange trips to places like farms and zoos. I will be working closely with other childminders in the local area, so the children will also have opportunities for interaction with children from other settings and we will also attend a meet up with the local Childminders every fortnight.

From January 2021, I will be open Monday to Thursday, between 8.30am and 4:45pm for all day childcare.
