About Me
Hello, my name is Karen and I have been a childminder for 12 years. I live in Misson near Bawtry in our welcoming and lively home with my husband and 3 children aged 15, 20 and 25( who now lives in London after finishing his degree). I love being a mum and childminder and being with children. Before childminding I was a primary school teacher for 18 years in which time I was the foundation stage manager, SENCO and safeguarding officer. I believe passionately children should be children and experience safe and fun times! I encourage creativity in all aspects of life and simply love any form of art! Play is the most important skill I can encourage in children and realising the importance of play in learning. Being outdoors is a must, plenty of fresh air, play and enjoying the world around us. All children I mind are encouraged to feel safe, secure, happy and part of my family.
My Experience
Teacher for 18 years in Primary schools. Specisl Needs and extensive early years experience including specific phonic, maths and early years training. Local authority childminding training . Safeguarding, paediatric first aid training,
I am studying for Hygge in the Early Years accreditation....this will encourage even more warmth and homeliness in my home.
