My Requirements

We are taking the plunge and home educating our four year old daughter from September 2021. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least a year looking after her for 1.5-2 days a week (if you might change career or move away at some point soon please don't get in touch). The days are almost entirely up for negotiation and don't have to be consecutive, but hours need to be consolidated (for example 2 x 9-3 days or a longer + shorter day). We are hoping to meet people over the coming weeks/over the summer. We are looking for someone:

- Kind, thoughtful, gentle. We do not use punishments or incentives as part of our parenting, but encourage reflection and conversation.
- Cheerful and playful but not overbearing.
- Equally happy outdoors when it's a bit miserable, and inside reading books or doing some crafty stuff when it really is too miserable to go out.
- With the initiative to run with child-led learning and exploration by planning (or spontaneously doing) activities related to current interests. This doesn't have to be complicated or fancy, just fun. We're not looking for a teacher or tutor, just someone who loves learning themselves.
- Willing to build a bond slowly.
- Who loves music, books, or creativity in some form. We often have lots of different kinds of music playing in the house.

Days will likely involve:

- Spending some time at home just the two of you.
- Friends may come over to play after school or during the holidays.
- Going to the park and playground, sometimes farther afield, perhaps also to regular activities and classes.
- Attending regular home ed meet ups where you will find a very welcoming community with parents and other nannies.
