About Me
Parents of a lovely, happy and friendly disabled 16 year old boy who has physical difficulties, is a wheelchair user outside of the house and has severe to profound learning difficulties. Medically he is fit, but does have epilepsy which is well controlled.
My Requirements
We will provide guidance and support to help you to understand his communication and needs. He uses a communication book, Makaton signing and a little verbalisation to communicate and is always quick to share a joke.
He loves 1:1 attention, socialising, books, music, and TV, but needs to be encouraged to do craft based activities to develop his fine motor skills.
We would like someone who is available between 10am and 4pm in the school holidays. Hours would be flexible depending on availability. You would either play with him at home or take him out for walks and to activities. Because he is dependent upon his wheelchair, when out and about, we would staff him with 2 carers.
